Desperation...

"So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the LORD. And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish." 1 Samuel 1:9-10

Hannah was heartbroken and desperate! She longed for a child, but for years had been barren. In desperation with no-where else to turn she calls on the Lord. Hannah pours her heart out before God. She knows her only hope is to get a hold of Heaven. Hannah would not be disappointed! Hannah's heart wrenching cry would be heard and answered by the Lord.

There are many times in our life that we face heartache and disappointment just like Hannah, so let us learn from her example. When it seems you have no hope and there is no-where left to turn, don't forget the Lord. Take your burden and lay it before Him. Trust in the Lord to heal your broken heart, to restore your soul. We must accept the fact we have no power on our own to deliver ourselves, we must learn to depend on the Lord for all our needs. Cast your burdens before the Lord and allow Him to lift you up! Remember in your weakness His strength is made perfect!

"He will guard the feet of His saints, But the wicked shall be silent in darkness. "For by strength no man shall prevail." 1 Samuel 2:9
