an invisible essence
beyond intellect that moves swiftly amongst us,

| Greetings!
I hope you are enjoying the final days of summer, and for my new Australian friends, winter is just around the corner.
We had a long, hot season here on the west coast of Canada. Record breaking hours in the sun. Like a true Vancouverite however, I celebrated the few days of rain we had last week and must say, the horses did as well. Covered in mud and burrs, they emerged from the bottom acreage, with a lilt in their step after the oppressive heat.
As usual, there is lots to share, including meeting our newest herd member, TANK, and a daring sharing about a book long overdue.

Messages From the Herd:
Some of you have had the opportunity to meet Grace, the Tennessee Walking Horse with whom I share my life. For years now I've been humming and hawing about writing her book. It all started a number of years ago when I was invited to lecture on the healing power of horses at The Body Heals Conference which featured luminaries Candace Pert, David Suzuki and Norm Shealy. The title of my presentation, and followup workshop, was The Equine Apothecary, the name I used to describe Grace and a name that seemed well suited for a group of physicians who practice integrative medicine.

|
After years of distraction, I finally began and in the doing, it became clear I was to not only translate the life lessons and remedies Grace has shared with others, but the gifts she's shared with me as well.
Grace would accept nothing less than me
writing down the bones as author Natalie Goldberg would say, so... this summer, in the spirit of daring greatly, I began to write and the first chapter is a story I thought I'd never share out loud.
I'm not sure how long it will take me but my dear mentor and friend Linda Kohanov has offered to write the forward which means I am past the point of return... There's no turning back... I'm all in.
For those of you who are interested, I'll share something about each chapter as it evolves, through brief updates here and also in more detail on my website blog. It is already different than I first conceived, with chapter one having a dash of what Einstein would call "spooky action at a distance."
Click this link if you want to find out, "What is an Apothecary?" and I'll soon post an excerpt from Chapter 1 - A Horse in the Recovery Room.

Is your Facebook Page bringing you any business?
My good friend Mark Mottershead, founder of HorseConscious and eHorseMarketing, is releasing a brand new program for equine businesses and professionals called:

I have never been very savvy with social media so I've already signed up. If you want to join us for this live, 'over the shoulder' video training,
Mark is going to take us through the entire process of:
- Setting up ads

TANK
 | TANK: aka Sir Tanks-a- lot, Tankaliscious, The Tankster, Angel in a Horse Suit |
A new friend has joined us here at Chiron's Way. His name plate says TANK though he is known by many names. You'll recognize him not only because he is the only real coloured horse we have (according to my husband Greg who believes horses should be brown and have good solid names like George or Steve or even Tank) but more importantly by how you feel when you are with him. Safe, watched over, loved.
I have written of him before for Horses In Art Magazine. He carried me on The Sacred Ride and I call him Angel. Thank you for coming to share our lives.
Click here to read the HIA article I wrote about Tank.
It may take a moment to load.

Upcoming Workshops and Training....
Though the equine guided training and learning season is drawing to a close here at Chiron's Way, I have created some delectable offerings for the rainy, winter months. Join me so you're primed for success in 2014. If you're ready to make a living doing what you love and, what you love just happens to involve horses, then this training is for you. Not only will you learn how to create a Success Mindset, but you'll also learn how to facilitate this process with others, in the 1-1 or group sessions you offer and create. The October class is limited to 6 people so register soon.
If you want to become more horse conscious, it starts by making changes at your subconscious level of mind. Learn how now in this transformational 2 day training. Please check the workshop pages if you're interested in learning more.

Thank you all for being part of my grand adventures this year. I feel full as a goog as they taught me to say down under and continue to be amazed by what we can create and experience when we learn from and with horses - and each other.
In Gratitude, Sandra |
