Pictured below are St. Anne's School graduates, Kate Larsson '10, Erik Saderholm '12, and Angelica Williams '12. Capstone Community Service

Project Spotlight

A hallmark of the Eighth Grade year is participation in the "Beliefs in Action Capstone Project", which integrates Religion, Humanities, and Service Learning. Each week we will feature Eighth Grade students and the Community Service component of their Capstone Project.

Project Paws by Jolie

My project is called Project Paws. I did my project at ARF animal rescue shelter. I played with the dogs, did the dishes, did laundry, cleaned dog rooms, walked dogs, and pretty much did anything that would make the shelter or the dogs look better to potential adopters. I chose this project because I have two rescue dogs, and there are a lot of dogs that still need a home. Also, there are a lot of animals at the shelter so it helps if there are a lot of volunteers to help out.

Operation Welcome Home by Victoria

Operation Welcome Home is based out of BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) to welcome home our troops from overseas. They mainly come from Rammstein, Germany and Heathrow, London. Before the troops come into the welcome area, after they go through customs, we hang up banners thanking them for their service and how happy we are to have them back home. We also filled bags with water and snacks to have if they were going home or had a bit of a lag time before any connecting flights. I chose this because the military is a big part of my life. My grandfather was in the Marine Corps, my uncle is still active duty Marine Corps, and my dad was a Navy pilot.

THANK YOU from Ms. Egan

On April 27, Kindergarten teacher Anne Egan ran in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's half marathon in Washington, DC. The Maryland LLS team raised over $345,000 and the LLS raised over 5 million on the DC race. Ms. Egan wanted to relay this message to our community:
"It was truly an awesome experience and I was honored to run in the memory of Sarah McMahon. Thank you for your support."
