Fairy Tales with Friends, Thursday, October 18 
Save the date for our annual Parents Association "Fair Tales with Friends." Early Childhood and Kindergarten friends are invited to come back to school and enjoy an evening of reading our favorite books. Don't forget to wear your pajamas!

Pumpkin Patch Volunteers  

Volunteers are needed to help out at the annual Light House Shelter Pumpkin Patch at St. Martin's Lutheran Church. This year our dates are:

 

Sunday, Oct 21: 11:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.   

Thursday, Oct 25: 4:00 - 6:15 p.m.

 

Also, the Pumpkin Patch will need a lot of help on Saturday, October 13th at 9 a.m.  They receive their first shipment of pumpkins on this day and we need all hands on deck to get them unloaded!

Congratulations Field Hockey!
Our St. Anne's School Field Hockey Stars won their first game last week, with a 5-0 effort over Calverton. Allie K. Victoria C., and Charlotte O. all scored goals and Erika A. and Lauren F. came up with important assists during the victory.

Scholastic Book Fair
Tuesday, Oct. 9 - Friday, Oct. 12 
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be from Tuesday, October 9 to Friday,October 12. Stop by during conferences to shop the Book Fair!

During the Book Fair, we also hold our One for Books fundraiser. Loose change can be dropped into the collection box in the front hall. Our the money we raise goes directly to our school library and Scholastic matches the money we raise with a donation to non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids and families in need. Parent Education Workshop
Assessment Toolbox: A Smart School, The St. Anne's School Way, Wednesday, October 17, 8:15 a.m. 
At this workshop Lisa Nagel and learning resources specialist Judy Fedinick will show you the comprehensive group of tools used to assess and evaluate students.  Standardized test scores for students who were in Fourth-Eighth Grade at St. Anne's School in 2011-2012 will be available for parent review. Fall "Kick Off" Potluck
Tuesday, October 23, 4 p.m. 
Join us Tuesday, October 23 at 4 p.m. to cheer on our St. Anne's School Stars at PAL Park! All families are invited to attend the boys soccer game vs. Rockbridge at 4 p.m. and then head back to the school for a potluck dinner afterwards. Please bring a appetizer, side dish or entree that will serve 6-8 people. Food can be dropped off at the school the morning of the potluck or before the soccer game.  We hope to see you at this fun, school-spirit event!

Our Admissions Office is gearing up for our first Open House of the year and we're counting on you to help build the buzz this event! Pick up a PEP Pack containing flyers and postcards about our Open House while you're in for conferences or email creiss@St.AnnesSchool.org to have a pack sent home in KidMail. Flyers and postcards may be shared electronically also.

Please save the date for our Run for Sarah 5K on Saturday, November 17. This year's race will raise funds for the Sarah A. McMahon Scholarship for incoming Middle School students at St. Anne's School.
