My 3 P's: Passion, Purpose, Potential

How are you doing with your "3 P's?" Whether you are just now joining us or have already started your work on this series, we are here to help with your development in 2014. Our first professional development series is My 3 P's: Passion, Purpose, Potential.

Last month we began this series by sharing several resources on this topic. If you haven't yet had a chance to plug-in, don't worry! It's not too late to view the resources and join us. The resources we've shared so far have provided information and ideas to get you started. This month is all about taking action on your "3 P's." Below are several practical tools to help you with this:
  • What would happen if you could add just one degree to your professional and personal work?
  • Reflecting back on your previous year, what can you do to plan forward and do things differently this year?
  • What is the Formula for Success and how can you use it to plan for YOUR success?

What's next? We'll be back in touch in a couple of weeks to check in and see how you're doing with putting your "3 P's" into action. In the meantime, don't forget to subscribe to receive articles and resources and have all additional material we post in this series delivered directly to your inbox.

We will be hosting an interactive conference call on March 18 at 1:00 PM. You won't want to miss this opportunity to connect with other people on this topic and be held accountable to a commitment you'll make to taking action on your "3 P's."

212 Degrees Worksheet

If you haven't already seen the 212 Degrees video, watch it today! Sam Parker is the co-founder of GiveMore.com - His message is so inspiring and shows us how to really dig deep, go the extra mile, and as a result make better things happen for ourselves and others around us.

"At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And with steam, you can power a train. Just one extra degree makes all the difference."

After you've watched the video, download our worksheet. Either as a group or individually, consider how you can move just ONE degree in both your personal and professional lives. We've also included some ideas to help you implement your "extra degree."

Do you think that pushing yourself to go that extra degree will help you live your purpose and maximize your potential?

Reflect Back and Plan Forward Activity

The start of a new year is always a great time to reflect back and plan forward. This activity asks you some great questions to springboard that thinking. Remember, you're more likely to achieve something if you plan for it and write it down, so ... get your pens ready!

As you complete this activity, you'll reflect on your previous year and consider your most significant accomplishments as well as obstacles that stood in your way. You'll then consider what you could do differently moving forward - What are your goals for 2014? How will you be different? What changes need to take place for you to achieve your 2014 goals?

Once you've done the heavy lifting to get clear on what you want to achieve this year, the next step is to develop an action plan. How can reflecting back and planning forward help you with your "3 P's?"

The Formula for Success Worksheet

(Attitudes plus Skills & Knowledge directed by Goals delivers Positive Behavior Change which yields Improved Results, both organizationally and personally.)

We look at The Formula for Success from right to left. You first need to define what success means to you - Only then can you work through the Formula to get there. And it all starts with attitude.

"There is very little difference in people but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude and the big difference is if it's negative or positive." - W. Clement Stone

This worksheet takes you through a series of questions, working through the Formula from right to left. First, you think about your results so far this year and how the other components of the Formula contributed to those results. Then you think about what you want your future results to be - How do the other components of the Formula need to change to make those results happen? What impact would you have on your future success if you really took control of your passion, purpose, and potential?
