iAccelerate Centre Opening Heralds Innovation Boom

The NSW Minister for Industry, Resources and Energy, the Hon. Anthony Roberts MP, officially opened the new home for the University of Wollongong's (UOW) business incubator and accelerator, the iAccelerate Centre.



The iAccelerate Centre was made possible through $16.5 million from the NSW Government's Restart NSW Illawarra Infrastructure Fund.



The state-of-the-art, three-storey, 4000 square metre building features "plug and go" expandable space for more than 280 entrepreneurs. Read more.

Tool to Detect Food Allergens Developed at The University of Guelph's Office of Research

Researchers at U of G's BioNano Laboratory have developed a portable, discrete apparatus that can identify allergens such as peanuts or gluten more quickly and cost effectively. The new detector could expedite allergen reporting and reduce the number of allergic reactions through more timely results.



The wallet-size equipment means tests can be done on location instead of having to rely on a lab that may be located far away. Read more.
