Escapee Considered Armed



Area Law enforcement including Bibb County are asking the public to be on the lookout for Eric Washington who escaped the county jail in Eutaw Tuesday night.  They say he is 'Armed, dangerous' and escaped from Greene Co. Jail.

150 Miners Back At Work 


150 to 160 former employees of the Warrior Met Coal No. 4 Mine - formerly Jim Walter No. 4 mine - are being called back to work.
UMW of America, said those callbacks began Tuesday and are continuing today.

HOPE ABOUNDS: The awe-inspiring faith of a teen whose parents died in a Tuscaloosa plane crash on Sunday of this week.



Sarah's parents, Dr. Michael and Kim Perry, were among six individuals who were killed in the crash, leaving behind a total of 11 children, including Sarah and her younger brother and sister.

West Blocton Officer Is Dismissed



District Attorney Michael Jackson confirms that a West Blocton police officer has been charged with one count of tampering with evidence, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and two counts of marijuana possession in the second degree.
Body Found Near Wrecked SUV



Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Lawrence said a group of ATV riders alerted deputies to a flipped SUV in a ravine near West Blocton around  4 p.m. August 10, 2016.
A decomposed body found near wreck.   Authorities believe the person died about a month ago.

The University of Alabama System has funneled $1.4 million to a closely connected "dark money" group as part of a complex financial web the system has established to help it wield influence in Montgomery.

Mandatory reporting of all deer and turkey harvests through Alabama's Game Check System goes into effect this fall.     Alabama joins 47 other states that have a mandatory harvest reporting system.

Alabama's New House Speaker



Bibb County's own Rep. April Weaver makes the nomination for Alabama's new Speaker Of The House, Representative Mac McCutcheon.  Things are changing in Montgomery.




If you missed registration for fall baseball and softball this past weekend but would still like to play, you may sign up this week at the office of Burkes Mechanical from 7am-4pm. We are needing players in all age groups. Friday is the last day to sign up..




Due to a new partnership among local business and community leaders, Bibb County High School (BCHS) students are participation in a year long study of the Cahaba River watershed by the AP Biology/Chemistry class at BCHS.
