West Blocton didn't have to look far to find its new football coach.
Eric Hiott has been elevated from assistant to head coach after being officially hired at Tuesday's Bibb County Board of Education meeting. He replaces Greg Farnetti, who stepped down at the end of the 2015 season.

Maplesville Wins Back-To-Back Class 1A Titles

TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) - Maplesville defended its Class 1A state championship against Cedar Bluff on Thursday in Bryant-Denny Stadium as The Red Devils claimed a 59-24 win over Cedar Bluff for their 3rd school title.

CLANTON MAN FACES MULTIPLE CHARGES

 A canine search team from Bibb County was called in to help with the search for Robert Jonathan Fields Jr., 34, of Clanton. Fields, who is a Registered Criminal Sex Offender, has faces murder, attempted murder and assault charges.

7 YEAR OLD CREATES "BLUE TREE" TO HONOR HIS HEROS

7-year-old Ty Fonderen has created a Christmas "Blue Tree" honoring law enforcement.
Ty says he wants everyone to honor law enforcement and remember those who have died in the line of duty.
