The Centreville Historic Preservation Commission Facebook Page Reports that the Old Historic Bibb County Jail is to be torn down.

It will be a sad day to see another historic piece

of Bibb County's past disappear.

Report Questions High Child Tax Credits

A recently released report by the Tax Foundation produced this map showing the percentage of federal income tax filers claiming a child tax credit in 2012.

Bibb County ranked among the highest of the counties in Alabama. The report goes on to say that, "Sometimes, an inordinately high percentage of returns claiming tax credits can be a sign of fraud."

Four programs moved on from the South Central regional tournament in Troy, including Class 6A Hillcrest, Class 4A Northside and West Blocton and Class 3A Hale County. Both Winfield (3A) and South Lamar (1A) advanced from the North Central regional held at Sokol Park.
