Thanks go out to the first responders from Green Pond, Indian Ford, Pea Ridge, Shelby County, and Calera who all responded to The Slab on at the Shelby/Bibb County line on Monday for a Swift Water rescue.

Blocking cellphone for prisoners could help keep drugs and other contraband out of Alabama prisons

Cellphones are the target of the Alabama Department of Corrections plans to tackle the problem of controlling the smuggling of the contraband devices by bocking calls from inmates' phones to make them essentially useless.


 

DOC has asked the Legislature for $4 million to install systems at Bibb, Donaldson, Fountain and St. Clair correctional facilities.
