Alabama Made Products Are World Class.

"Good things can come blowing in the wind."

Over the past 15 years the entire world has discovered that Alabama is home to some of the most beautiful and functional automobiles in the world, but not very many may know that since 2006, Alabama has been home to a premiere world class motorcycle manufacturing company.

Confederate Motorcycles moved to downtown Birmingham after Hurricane Katrina decimated the company's New Orleans factory.

The time has come for me to go in a different direction and after 30 years, I will retire March 31, 2015. It has been a great run and a very rewarding career and, for the most part, very good. I give it a 98% on that issue. Most veterans just want help and the benefits they are truly entitled to receive and it has been my pleasure to help to make that happen. Many times, VA benefits can be life changing and can make a difference in the quality of life for the recipients.

Without going on, I just want to thank everyone who has had a part in my life over these years. I have made many friends and it has been a pleasure.

At this point, I do not know what the Department of Veterans Affairs has in mind for the Bibb office but I'm sure something will be posted soon.

So, as my dear friend Porky Pig would say, "Badee, Badee, that's all folks!"  -  Roger Kinard

EDITORIAL:  Gay Marriage
Editorial:    02/19/2015

This morning I spoke with Bibb County Probate Judge, Jerry Pow, to ask if he would be issuing any marriage licenses on behalf of Bibb County today.  He indicated that he is following the marriage licenses issue closely and further stated that, "there are no plans to issue any marriage licenses to anyone at this time."

It is my opinion that this is a wise and proper response and I wish to commend our Probate Judge for this thoughtful decision.

I believe at this point in our history that all Government, including Federal, State, County, and City should get out of the marriage licenses business and no longer issue any marriage licenses to ANYONE.

It makes things complicated when someone or some group either doesn't like the way a word is used in our society or they want to change the definition of a certain word and then force others to accept their definition.

By getting the Government out of the marriage licenses business, anyone wishing to be married would still retain all their rights.  They could find a church that could marry them, or they could find a Church that will Marry them.

Most people associate the words "drop box," with the online file-sharing tool that allows users to share data across computers & smartphones from anywhere.

But for Jong-rak Lee, a pastor from Seoul, South Korea, there is a very different use for an old mail drop box.
