Welcome to the January edition of our eNewsletter. Inside you will find BD&E happenings, ideas we would like to share and, of course, the Bella update.

Celebrating Community

Spotlight on Gustavus Adolphus College.

Community---- everyone has a pretty clear idea of what that means, right? We did too. Until we completed our most recent project for longtime client Gustavus Adolphus College. For our friends in St. Peter, Minnesota, community is a core value. And as we discovered, it is a significant force with remarkable powers.

Through five carefully crafted stories and captivating photographs, we exemplified what community means in the lives and hearts of Gusties. From a student who promotes inclusion and social justice---- to dining service director Steve Kjellgren, who worked with local farmers in forming a coalition to meet the needs of the College---- Gustavus uniquely defines community.

Distributed to all alumni, stakeholders and friends of the College, this Celebrating Community edition is the fifth Annual Report BD&E has designed and produced for Gustavus. We are honored to be a part of their ongoing marketing efforts and, in doing so, to have become ingrained in this very special community.

@ BD&E
Here a chick, there a chick.

Spring is just around the corner, and it's the perfect time to start thinking about chickens. Yes, chickens!

Our Digital Strategist, Aimee, raises chickens with her husband and five-year-old daughter. "In addition to having farm fresh eggs, we thought it would be a great learning experience and, let's be honest, they are fun to watch! We have five chickens that average 4-5 eggs a day in the spring and summer. Our recipe collection has grown, and this Caprese Quiche is one of our favorites."

Catching Up with Bella

A Dog's Tale.

She may be all sugar and spice, but Bella rang in the new year with a snip to her puppy dog tail that was not very nice!

You see, her tail never stops moving or wagging, therefore it is problematic around toddlers, wine glasses and, this time, a closing door. What's a good holiday break without a trip to the ER vet? After some surgical glue and a compression bandage, she was sent on her way with the most absurd of instructions, "Please try to keep Bella from wagging her tail." Even this most obedient dog-of-dogs could not comply!

Thanks for your time. We will catch up again next month. Until then, have a prosperous and healthy new year. Let's Go Pens!
