MCAA Sets Advocacy Agenda for 2015
Passing additional pension reform measures, federal procurement reforms and energy efficiency incentives, as well as extending the government's terrorism risk insurance program and preserving federal prevailing wage protections are among the key issues MCAA will advocate for in 2015. Plan to join in MCAA's advocacy efforts by attending the 2015 National Legislative Conference, slated for April 28-29 in Washington D.C. Watch for registration information in upcoming Updates.

There's Still Time to Compete for a Safety Excellence Award

If you believe your company deserves an MCAA/CNA Safety Excellence Award, plan to send MCAA your completed application by January 6; electronic applications are available at www.mcaa.org/safetyawards. The application must include a brief description of the company and its safety program, a statement about why the company deserves a top safety award and a brief description of an innovative safety initiative implemented by the company in 2014. The winners will be announced at the Annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony during MCAA 2015 in Wailea, Maui, HI. The other form of recognition is the MCAA Safety Certificates of Commendation Program, which opens for entries on January 15; go to the link above for an annual report form.  Every company that submits a completed report form will receive a confidential benchmarking report that compares their company's occupational injury incidence rates with the aggregate rates of the other participants in the same size category and with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry averages for the mechanical construction industry. Members that qualify for a certificate of commendation will receive it in April. Reports are due to MCAA by March 31, 2015.  Please contact Pete Chaney with questions at pchaney@mcaa.org.

MSCA Offers Second Sales Leadership Symposium

Register Now for MSCA's Only Sales Leadership Symposium in 2015! This extended two-day seminar, scheduled for February 23-24, 2015, in Philadelphia, PA, will provide anyone responsible for sales team development (including those without a sales manager title) with the skills needed to recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and train his/her team. Participation in this session is required by the sales leader before his/her team members can attend the Sales Master program (for intermediate- and advanced-level service sales staff) to ensure that managers are equipped to successfully support employees who advance through the Sales Masters program. Visit www.msca.org/salesinstitute/leadership to register for the Sales Leadership Symposium. This is the only Symposium scheduled for 2015 and the class size is limited, so register early. For information about all MSCA Sales Institute programs, visit the MSCA Sales Institute Web page. Contact Sobeida Orantes (saorantes@mcaa.org) with registration questions.
