MCAA National Update for July 21, 2014

MCAA Leaders Provide Guidance on Association Governance and New Programs

During an intensive two-day meeting last week, MCAA's Board of Directors engaged in wide-ranging discussions and analyses that focused on the governance of MCAA and ideas for future new programs and services. Board members and past presidents identified strengths and weaknesses in MCAA's internal operations, external forces that may have an adverse impact on the association and opportunities that could help MCAA grow and better serve the membership. They also identified potential new programs and services, including an educational conference for foremen and forums for IT and operations managers to share best practices. The meeting also included reports on MCAA's finances, the varied activities of its committees and subsidiaries and an in-depth discussion on how best to secure MCAA's financial security in the coming years. The Board of Directors will next meet in conjunction with MCAA's 2015 convention.

Is LEED Your Only Option for Certifying a Green Building?
Register for this Webinar!
For almost a decade, LEED has been the industry standard for green building rating systems, but it's not the only system available to measure and test a building's sustainability. If you're looking for options to certify your next sustainable building, then plan to register for MCAA's next Green Building Webinar.  On August 28, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time, Courtney France of France Sustainable Solutions will take you through the various programs in sustainable building metrics and explain the rating systems and certifications offered by each system. This webinar is free to MCAA and MSCA members as a benefit of membership.  Please register at https://mcaa.webex.com.
