MCAA National Update for June 9, 2014
MORE GREEN BUILDING WEBINARS COMING SOON!

during the next two weeks, you will have an opportunity to participate in two MCAA Green Building Webinars.  On June 12, Matt Gregg of McKinstry Company (Seattle, WA) will describe a LEED Platinum (pending) case study - Stone 34 - of a 110,000 square-foot new construction project performed by McKinstry. He will discuss the project's features - a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS), active chilled beams, phase-change thermal storage, rainwater treatment and performance guarantees for both water and energy performance. On June 19, Courtney France of France Sustainable Solutions will explain why water metering is an effective way to measure and track water use as well as assist in

saving water. She will also teach you about different levels of water metering, energy information systems that can be used to save water and how water audits can be used for LEED points.  Both webinars will take place at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.  And, they are both free to MCAA/MSCA members as a membership benefit.  Please register for each webinar at https://mcaa.webex.com.

NFPA 70E QUALIFIED-LEVEL ARC FLASH SAFETY TRAINING WEBINAR SAVES LIVES

If your service technicians or other employees who work with or around electrical equipment have not yet participated in the life-saving training provided by the NFPA 70E Qualified-Level Arc Flash Safety Training webinar, make sure they register for one of the next webinars on June 24, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. HELP US HELP YOU!  SUPPORT MCAA-PAC!

The National Issues Conference may be over, but the need for an effective industry presence in Congress is an ongoing process.  To win passage of critical industry legislation - including multiemployer pension benefits, procurement policy, immigration reform, energy policy, apprentice training and more - MCAA-PAC must have sufficient funds. Help us make a difference in Congress for you and your company by making a PAC contribution at www.mcaa.org. Our new system also allows you to make contributions with a credit card. Click on the MCAA-PAC icon for information and instructions.

DO YOU KNOW AN EVERYDAY HERO?

Nominate the unsung hero from your company who you believe deserves this honor. The deadline for submissions is July 1, 2014.  A panel of industry associates will select the Everyday Hero, and Top CNN Hero Doc Hendley will announce the winner during the General Session on September 30.
