2013 EDITION OF MCAA COLLECTIVE BARGAINING GUIDE AND LEGAL ANALYSIS IS NOW AVAILABLE
Labor and employment law experts Michael Boldt and Ryan Poor of the Ice Miller LLP firm authored the just-released 2013 edition of MCAA's Collective Bargaining Guide and Legal Analysis. The expanded 2013 edition covers the formation and structure of multiemployer bargaining units, the details and legalities of assigning and revoking bargaining rights to bargaining agents.  It also analyzes the crucial technical details of construction industry pre-hire agreements, as compared with other types of bargaining pacts entered into after union elections or voluntary recognition under Section 9(a) of the National Labor Relations Act.  Hot topics include responses to attempts to expand the scope of bargaining unit work to off-jobsite locations, extraterritorial clauses in labor pact geographic jurisdiction clauses, labor-management cooperative committee issues, and many more current topics. The expanded publication also includes in-depth appendixes covering construction site strikes, picketing and boycotts; equal employment opportunity and affirmative action plans for federal contractors and subcontractors; and a detailed digest of Labor Department LM-2s for every UA local union. This publication is free as a benefit of MCAA/MSCA membership.  Download your copy at www.mcaa.org/store.
