Hello Families!
Whew! We have finished (with a few exceptions of make up testing) our PARCC sessions. Thank you to our community for helping our students by supporting them with snacks!
I would like to remind everyone to please be extra careful in our parking lot at pick up and drop off times. Please ONLY allow your child to get in or out of the vehicle at the appropriate area near the back frontage road gates. Please do not arrive early and hold up the line behind you waiting for more than 2 or 3 minutes. If you arrive early you will be asked to leave and come back through the line.
Our awesome MYP students have been busy with community service project ideas and implementation! Samuel Dennison will be starting a Two Lunch Tuesdays program here at CIS to feed the hungry at The Rock @ Noonday, the largest homeless day shelter in the State of New Mexico feeding in excess of 100,000 meals per year. Students are encouraged to bring donated lunches (possibly even decorate the lunch bags or place a note of encouragement in with the meal--this is a much appreciated nice touch but certainly not required.) These extra lunches help ensure meals are available for the homeless who may miss the regular lunch meals served at The Rock @ Noonday.

Risk-takers
They approach unfamiliar situations and uncertainty with courage and forethought, and have the independence of spirit to explore new roles, ideas and strategies. They are brave and articulate in defending their beliefs.
Activities for parents
* If your child is feeling uneasy about trying something, encourage them to attempt it and then reflect on both whether they liked the
activity and how it felt to try something new.
* Be careful to explain to your child the difference between being a risk-taker by trying new things and doing dangerous things.

CORRALES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FOUNDATION
FUND '15
Have you had a chance to donate to the Annual Fund Drive this year? As you may know Corrales International School must raise funds to pay for the purchase of our new home. With the help of our amazing community we can do this! The CIS Foundation is asking each family to ask themselves what a quality education is worth and consider donating at this time. If it's not in your budget this year, you might consider hosting a fundraiser in your home, assisting in upcoming fundraisers, or helping the Foundation reach out to business or individuals in our community that might be able to donate to our school. Please contact Anna Prewitt annaprewitt@gmail.com, or John Perea johnperea@aol.comto help support the CIS Foundation.
The CIS Foundation would like to recognize and thank each of the families that have contributed to the ongoing success of our Annual Fund this year! There is still time to make a difference in the stability of our amazing school. We are hoping to raise $100,000 this year through donations, grants, fundraisers and community support to pay for the purchase of our beautiful facility to ensure the longterm success ofCorrales International School.
Remember that the Corrales International School Foundation is a 501c3, and all contributions are tax deductible. We can accept cash, check, credit card and Paypal payments. You can also choose to donate through the United Way.
Thank you to our generous donors this year, who are helping to light the way for education!
