I hope you enjoyed a restful break making memories with your families and are ready to come back recharged!
There is a lot going on in our final 7 weeks of school!
Tomorrow at 5pm the SAC will be discussing the calendar for the 2015-16 school year. You should have heard from your SAC representative for your child's grade soliciting feedback.
Tuesday is our Family Science Night and Science Fair event! This is a great event that proves to be a lot of fun for our community. We can't wait to see all of the presentations!
Don't forget to turn in your Jog-A-Thon permission forms (they can be found on our website if you've misplaced yours!) The event will be on Wednesday during school hours. More info here.
Our 4th, 7th and 11th graders will be taking the SBA test (just a few sections) this week. The SBA is used only for those topics not covered by PARRC. See our entire spring testing schedule here. We welcome snack donations of healthy (non-nut containing) food items--fruit, pretzels, yogurt, fruit leather, etc. The kids really do appreciate them!

* If your child is feeling uneasy about trying something, encourage them to attempt it and then reflect on both whether they liked the
activity and how it felt to try something new.
* Be careful to explain to your child the difference between being a risk-taker by trying new things and doing dangerous things.

Have you had a chance to donate to the Annual Fund Drive this year? As you may know Corrales International School must raise funds to pay for the purchase of our new home. With the help of our amazing community we can do this! The CIS Foundation is asking each family to ask themselves what a quality education is worth and consider donating at this time. If it's not in your budget this year, you might consider hosting a fundraiser in your home, assisting in upcoming fundraisers, or helping the Foundation reach out to business or individuals in our community that might be able to donate to our school. The CIS Foundation would like to recognize and thank each of the families that have contributed to the ongoing success of our Annual Fund this year! There is still time to make a difference in the stability of our amazing school.
