Corrales International School February 2015
Kids in Class CIS
CIS Family,

Thanks to the parents that attended our IB Parent Academy!  We are still tallying up the counts to see which classes had the most representation. Please make sure to turn in your passport to Ms.Tara if you took yours home!

This week we will have visitors from the International Baccalaureate Organization at CIS. If you should see new faces around the school, please take a moment and welcome them to CIS! As part of the visit, the IB representatives would like to meet with parents of the MYP tomorrow, Monday 2/23, from 3:15pm to 3:45pm in the library. Please feel free to stop by and share what you know about the MYP at CIS!

Principled

Principled students act with integrity and honesty, and have a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities.

They take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that accompany them.

Activities for parents

* Involve your child in deciding on the rules for a game or activity and then ensure that they stick to the ones that have been decided upon.

* Encourage your child to play games that involve teams. Discuss with your child the qualities of a team player. What sort of person would they want on their team?

* When your child wins a game insist that he or she is a well-mannered winner. They might thank their opponent or shake hands with them if it's appropriate.

* When playing a game, don't change the rules or let your child win. Being a gracious loser is just as important as being a good winner.

CITY LIBRARY ACCESS AT CIS

In order for our students to access the city library databases and other awesome resources we would like all CIS students to have a library card and pin.  If your child already has theirs, please fill out the information on this form so that our teachers can help students access the databases while researching in our computer lab.  Thank you!

FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE

The CIS Health Office is following the guidelines, procedures, and policies as directed from APS and the New Mexico Dept. of Health regarding the current Measles outbreak.  The Health Office will contact you if your student is out of compliance with immunizations. If you have further questions or concerns regarding your student please contact the School Nurse.  We are dedicated in providing a safe & healthy learning environment for your student.

Thank you,
