Upcoming Schedule of Events

CIS FAMILY,

We have a lot of news to share with you. So much progress has been made on our new facility--the majority of renovations are complete and the elevator has been delivered (ahead of schedule now) and we have begun the moving in process. There is much left to do and we will need your help!

Tomorrow we will have a landscaper at school to grade the areas to the east and south of the warehouse multipurpose room. On Saturday morning, the sand for the playground area will be delivered. Please come to the school to help smooth out the sand and also move things around in the school. Things are looking great and we need your help to help us get over the hump of this move!

Can you help? Please be at our school at 8:00 am next Saturday, August 2 with a rake or flat edged shovel, gloves, hat, sunscreen, and water. We need to have the area leveled before our playground fence gets put in August 4-7. Remember many hands make a work load lighter! We are counting on you for our school and For our KIDS!

Kinder Language Academy

Unfortunately, due to continued work being done at CIS, we have had to cancel the remainder of the Kinder Summer Language Academy. We apologize for this unfortunate turn of events and appreciate the understanding of the Kindergarten families in this change.

Other Upcoming Events

Wednesday, Aug 6 at 4:00pm

The SAC meeting time has been changed to 4:00 pm. The School Advisory Committee is made up of parent and teacher representatives who meet to discuss and make policy recommendations for the school. The meetings are open to the school community and the public.

Thursday, Aug 7 at 8:00am

The CIS Foundation Board will be meeting at CIS at 8:00. The CIS Foundation's mission is to support the growth and well-being of the CIS Community.

Tuesday, Aug 12 at 1:00pm

The CIS Governing Council will be meeting at CIS at 1:00pm. The GC is the school board which provides oversight and direction, working to further the mission of the school. GC meetings are open to the public.

Uniforms

To order uniforms shirts please visit customoutfitters.com and click on stores to find the CIS options. This year MYP students will be required to purchase the PE uniform which will consist of CIS sweatpants or shorts and the spirit shirt or the Blackman Taekwondo Academy tshirt (to be offered after the beginning of school by BTA instructors). The PE uniform is not yet on the uniform site but will be soon.

This year, any child wishing to have an indoor cover over the uniform top will be required to wear the CIS sweatshirt or hoodie (all hoods are to be kept down indoors).

Parents in need of financial assistance for uniforms can contact Dr. Elsy Diaz at diaz@corralesis.org to qualify.

School Supplies

This year our wonderful teachers would like you to simply pay a supply fee instead of requiring you to purchase school supplies for the classroom. This will allow our clever teachers to stretch your dollars by buying in bulk while also allowing them to purchase uniform supplies for the classroom as they need them, saving both storage for them and money for you!

PYP teachers are requesting $30 paid in August and $30 paid in January.
MYP teachers are requesting $40 paid in August and $40 paid in January.
