Dear Fabulous Parents!
The SBA testing period is this month. Grades 3-8 and 10-12 will be testing from Tuesday, March 11th to Friday March 21 with make up days on Mon 24 - Wed 26. Below is the schedule for this Week.
Click here to see entire schedule: NMSBA 2014 Testing Schedule
Please sign up to bring testing snacks for our students. All students deserve to go into testing with the benefit of brain-boosting snacks! Just click on this link to sign up to bring a NUTRITIOUS SNACK FOR OUR STUDENTS
Why do students have to take the test?
The NMSBA (New Mexico Standards Based Assessment) serves several purposes:
- The state-mandated, standardized test is used to assess whether students meet grade-specific state standards.
- The SBA will serve as the high school exit exam for the first time this year. Students in the class of 2013 and beyond will have to pass the reading, math and science sections of the high school SBA by the end of their senior year in order to obtain a high school diploma.
- OUR SCHOOL GRADE: The state's new A-F school grading system relies heavily on SBA results. This affects all of us.
So let's all pull together and make sure that all our students are prepared for the NMSBA test.
I hope you have a wonderful week.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Elsy Diaz
Head of School
