Happy Monday!
Please check the events listed below to stay in touch with what is happening at CIS. There is a PTA meeting today to discuss upcoming events, Wednesday is the 8th Grade parent meeting and Thursday we will have an afternoon performance by the Quang Minh Lion Dance Team in celebration of the beginning of the Chinese New Year Spring Festival! We invite parents to come and join us!
Please note that MAPs testing will start Monday, February 3rd and take care to make sure your child does not miss school during that testing window!

Congratulations to MYP student, Nate Hutchinson for being the all around champion at Eagle Ridge Winter invitational gymnastics meet level 8 this weekend as well as placing 2nd in the Gold Cup Classic last weekend! Your hard work and determination are clearly paying off!

MYP Parent Meetings
------------------------------------
The middle school years 6th - 8th grade are critical in the academic and social development of the young adult. Though many of our children in this age group say they don't want us around, they need us more than ever.
With this in mind, we have scheduled the following parent meetings to discuss with you in detail the future of your child at CIS. As you know Corrales International School has specific academic and social expectations for our students. Please plan on attending the grade level meetings designed specifically for your child's grade level. If you have more than one child enrolled at CIS in our middle school years program, please plan on attending both meetings. An agenda will be sent out on Monday to all MYP parents in a separate email.
All MYP parents are urged to attend these grade level meetings.

Support CIS
As we look forward to the expenses of moving to a new building, it would be helpful if parents would send messages to their state representatives and senators asking for financial support for Corrales International School.
You can look up your state representatives on the New Mexico Legislature website: www.nmlegis.gov. From the homepage you choose "member" and find your legislators by your home address if you don't already know who they are.
You can access the email address by asking for the information in the site search at the top of any page of the website.

Intention to Return
While 2014-2015 School Year seems distant, the Lottery for Enrollment in CIS is quickly approaching. We would like to know if you plan to enroll your child or children at CIS for the 2014-2015 School Year.
As you know, Corrales International School observes preference for any sibling. We want to make sure that these spaces are reserved and not offered as Lottery Openings. Please take the time to complete this form and advise us of your enrollment status for the 2014-2015 School Year no later than January 24, 2014.
