Foundation Information

As you know, we have a lofty collective goal in front of us - raising funds to get our school relocated into a publicly owned building. Thank you to Dr. Diaz for providing clarity around why this move is essential to CIS, just how much money we need to raise, and our timeline.

Although our overall goal is to raise funds, it is important to know that there are numerous ways to contribute including donating your time, expertise, ideas, connections, etc...Yes, money is important but there are other needs that are just as critical to our success.  For example, we will need to minimize moving expenses, can you help? We will need food donations for the various events, do you have contacts? We will need greeters, servers, etc...can you volunteer your time? Will your employer match your contribution to the school? Do you know potential sponsors who would love the visibility of being featured at our new location? Do you know how to design WebPages, are you an IT expert or are you familiar with integrated communication platforms?

To learn more about our needs and how you can help, we invite you to attend our monthly Foundation meetings.  Our next one is scheduled for Thursday, December 12th at 5:30 PM at Perea's Restaurant, just before the Foundation Silent Auction Preview Mixer. Additionally, moving forward, we will hold monthly meetings on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5:30 PM at CIS and they are open to everyone. We encourage you to attend! Finally, we have a new email address, so feel free to ask questions or let us know how you can help via email, as well.  [email protected]

We have already identified a few key fundraising events that you should be aware of:

  1. Thursday, December 12th is the CIS Foundation Silent Auction Preview Mixer at Perea's in Corrales beginning at 6:00 PM, following our foundation meeting.   Tickets are $25 and include a delicious entre and one adult beverage.  All proceeds go to our new building so come out, preview the wonderful art the students made and enjoy dinner with friends.
  2. Saturday, December 14th is the CIS Winter Performance and Foundation Silent Auction at the South Broadway Cultural Center.
  3. May/June will be the 2014 Kid Triathlon, which was a huge success in 2013.
  4. April/May will be the Luncheon Open House for community leaders held at our new facility.

There will be so many ways to contribute!

We are excited about the opportunities ahead and encourage you to get involved and think about the many ways in which you are an asset to our school community!

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and we look forward to seeing you at our meeting on December 12th!

Sincerely,

Kelly, Judi, John, Michael, and Paula
