PTA NEWS
Did you know that field trips, after school clubs, before testing snacks, positive parenting workshops, book fair, jogathon and tons of other great events are all coordinated by the PTA? We need you!! We know everyone can't make it to the meetings and some people may be confused about how to get involved. We are searching for one representative from each class to agree to communicate PTA info to other parents. Please contact Megan Walsh to get involved. This responsibility will fulfill the required three hours of volunteer time per family. Email [email protected] or call 505-934-4875.

PERMACULTURE WORKSHOP
WONDERING WHAT PERMACULTURE IS ALL ABOUT?

Dear Loving Parents,
I hope this email finds you well rested and with your planner or cellphone in hand. If you haven't marked it down already. I want to personally invite you to our workshop based on permaculture principles on Saturday, April 20th, from 2-4 p.m. You are more than welcome to bring a healthy snack to share or a plant starter of your choice. Our skilled and knowledgable ladies, Kelly, Joshlyn and Gina will guide us (and me too) through hands-on activities that will help you have a glimpse of what your child/children take part in when they are in our care. We also want you to take some of what you learn and put it into practice with your little one(s) at home.

I can't wait for this upcoming weekend to come already! I hope to see you and your child in our workshop this SATURDAY AT 2 p.m. Don't miss it!

If you have any questions, concerns or comments, do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks,
Noemi Diaz-Abbey

ALL CIS FAMILIES AND STAFF ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND THIS FREE WORKSHOP.  PLEASE CONTACT ANNA PREWITT AT [email protected] IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING!

Dear CIS Families:

There are still soooo many things to do before the end of this school year.   We begin our last round of testing on the NWEA MAPS on Monday.  Remember, this is the assessment that we administer 3 times per year to help us guide our teaching.  This last testing cycle is crucial because it will also help us evaluate how well we did in teaching our students.   Please sign up to bring snacks for our students.  Just click on this link:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0E48A9AD28AA8-brain

The Jog-a-thon is our biggest PTA fundraiser that brings in funds for field trips and school materials.  Last school year, the PTA purchased IPADS for our students and Library Books.  If the students raise $8000, I will need to wear the school uniform for the last week of school!

The CIS FOUNDATION Spring Silent Auction and Theater Night is fast approaching.  Please go to www.cisfoundation.com  website to purchase your tickets. Don't wait till the last minute, tickets must be purchased by May 3rd.  Please see CIS Foundation Newsletter below for more information on other great events.

I also would like to remind everyone not to drive past the orange cones in the front parking lot.  The safety cones are placed there for our students' safety. Please help us by not parking or driving past the orange cones.

I hope you have a wonderful week.
