Dear CIS Families:
I want to thank all of you for supporting your child/children during MAPS testing. This week we will continue testing our students on the NWEA MAPS assessment. Please check the testing schedule below and consider sending a healthy snack to your child's class.
Our students are doing wonderful things this time of year. If you haven't come by the school lately, come by and check out what your child is doing in his/her classroom. If your time is limited, just come by and check out the amazing art work going up on our walls. We certainly have much to brag about.
Speaking about bragging... Did you know there are 305 appllicants seeking enrollment in our school?

Principled
Principled individuals act with integrity and honesty, and a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities. They take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that accompany them.
Activities for parents
- Involve your child in deciding on the rules for a game or activity and then ensure that they stick to the ones that have been decided upon.
- Encourage your child to play games that involve teams. Discuss with your child the qualities of a team player. What sort of person would they want on their team?
- When your child wins a game insist that he or she is a well-mannered winner. They might thank their opponent or shake hands with them if it's appropriate.
- When playing a game, don't change the rules or let your child win. Being a gracious loser is just as important as being a good winner.

Enrollment Lottery
2013-2014 School Year
It is that time of year again! We will hold our enrollment lottery for next school year on February 5th at 5pm at CIS. If you have children you hope will begin at CIS next year, please make sure you have turned in an enrollment application for each additional child you'd like to enroll for next year. (Returning students need only to have the Intent to Return form on file).
