INTERNATIONAL DAY FESTIVAL
Saturday, November 3 | |
| |
Our International Day Festival is just around the corner! All families are strongly encouraged to come this Saturday between 1:30 and 6:30pm and see our wonderful CIS students and their class performances under the instruction of Mrs. Robyn Clarke. They have been working hard and are excited to share with you what they have learned both in music class and in their classrooms preparing to be docents in their classroom museums!
Come see each classroom's Museum, experience student presentations and performances as well as performances by West African band, Soriba Fofana ( http://soribafofana.com) and other local musicians, including our own CIS parents, Sharon Berman and Juan Wijngaard!
The event will be fun for all with bounce houses, henna artists and tethered hot air balloon rides (weather permitting) as well!
And don't forget that our IPAD or Hot Air Balloon Ride raffle will be held that day as well!

WIN AN IPAD OR BALLOON RIDE!
In an effort to encourage as many students, parents, siblings, grandparents and friends of CIS to come to our International Day Fair, the International Day Committee has decided to keep the entry fee low and instead we hope to raise funds to support PTA functions (field trips, after school enrichment, etc) by holding this raffle.
Your lovely children brought home 10 raffle tickets which can be sold to friends and family for a minimum of a $5 donation to the CIS PTA! These tickets are for our International Day Fair raffle of an Ipad or a Hot Air Balloon Ride (Thank You, Rice Family!).
If your family chooses not to participate, please return the tickets. All ticket stubs, money and unused tickets can be deposited in the PTA box mounted to the wall in the front hall.
Thank you!

A Note from Music Teacher, Robyn Clarke
Dear Parents,
|
Our music classes have been working really hard to learn our dances for International Day and we are excited to share them with the whole community.
The performances will be from 3 - 4 during Saturday's event. We will start with Kinder and work up from their traveling all over the globe through dance and song.
It is very important that all students arrive at the stage area by 2:50 and look for your teacher to sit together. If you are a second and third grader, please meet me in the library to organize our places.
If you are unable to make the performance on Saturday please notify your classroom teacher ASAP so we can plan accordingly. 6th and 8th graders will need a note from parents for an excused absence, as this is part of your grade.
Lastly, here is a list of each class and what they should wear - but please just get as close as you can, no need to run out and make purchases.
Remember that
- Dancers should be able to move safely and
- Dancers should be comfortable.
