Career Connect

Dear Seniors,
I know this is a busy time of year for you for many reasons.  I am here to talk about your future career.  Many of you have successfully accepted a full-time position.  Congratulations to those of you that have secured full-time employment!  If you have not already, please complete the post-grad survey and come to our Pamplin Atrium event for seniors on Wed, April 27 and Thur, April 28 from 11-2pm to pickup free swag, food and fun, and also learn more about Masters' programs.

For those of you that have not yet secured full-time employment, do not give up!  We sent out an email last week asking seniors that had not secured full-time employment to send a resume to us to send out to our employer database on your behalf.  To those of you that did this, your information was sent to thousands of employer contacts - many of which have already started viewing your resumes!  If you are contacted by employers directly, make sure you engage and follow up with them in a timely fashion and give every opportunity a shot, you never know what a particular company could have to offer until you learn more.

I'm quite shocked that those of you that are still seeking opportunities, still have not logged into a Pamplin Podcast airing.  Over the last four weeks, we've had over 10 companies on calls that are taking time out of their day to connect with you....and the majority of these companies have opportunities for graduating seniors!  I cannot guarantee some of these companies still have these openings, but listen to their taped recordings below and follow up with the recruiters on the call.  They give great detail and instruction on next steps in the process.

There are still 2 podcasts remaining this semester that I encourage each of you to attend to learn what may still be available.  We have 10 companies attending these two calls alone.

I assure you after you graduate, it will become more difficult to connect with companies and opportunities, so take advantage of the remaining opportunities that are presented.  We are here to help you as much as we can, but you must meet half way in order to be successful. Seniors still seeking opportunities, reach out to Sarah Messer to schedule a time to talk with one of our career services team members in a one on one setting.

Sincerely,
Jenn Carty

Post-Graduation Senior Survey

If you are a 2016 May or Summer graduate, you should have received an email to take the annual post-graduation survey.  This survey has been used to tell you about who our top employers are and average starting salaries.  Please pay it forward for future graduating classes by participating in the 5-minute survey

If you have been unsuccessful in landing a job, we are here to help.  This issue has many ways for you to identify opportunities and gain assistance.  Do not wait any longer.
