Placement and Salary Data by College and Major
The post-graduation data for our 1,000-plus Pamplin graduating Class of 2015 has been released. We are pleased to announce that of those seniors seeking full-time employment, the placement rate was 90%. About 93% of graduates reported having career-related experience prior to graduation. 

Median starting salary for the college rose from $51,000 in 2014 to $56,500 in 2015. Specifically, accounting is $56,500, BIT is $62,000, Finance $56,500, HTM $44,000, Management $51,500 and Marketing is $45,000. Also, 45% of graduates reported receiving a signing bonus with the median amount of $5,000.

The most common metro location graduates began their careers was DC (52%), followed by Richmond at 10% and NYC at 6%. Overall, about 80% of graduates started their careers in the Baltimore - Charlotte corridor. 

The top employers of Pamplin graduates over the past 5 years are: Deloitte, EY, Accenture, KPMG, pwc, Capital One, CGI, Marriott, IBM, BDO, Freddie Mac, GE, Ferguson and Cvent.

Spring Business Horizons Results
Thanks to the over 100 companies and 400 company reps that attended the spring Business Horizons in January.  

Over 1300 students attend the Spring Business Horizons fair - up about 50 from the 2014 spring fair. This compared to 2300 students who attended the fall 2015 fair. 
 

About 82% of the students attending were Pamplin majors compared to about 75% last year. Fifty-seven of the approximate 80 majors at VT attended. Here are the top 5 by major:

Business Information Technology - BIT301
Accounting and Info Systems - ACIS176
Marketing Management - MKTG136
Management - MGT77


Of the 1300 students attending, about 350 downloaded our mobile app. From that app, we know the most viewed companies by students:

Accenture 174, Altria 123, Appian 99, CGI 95, KPMG 92, Amazon 91, PepsiCo 84, WestRock 80, Anthem 79, Cardinal Bank 79 (First-Time Attendee).
