On Monday, April 14 at 4pm at Pamplin 1045, we will be hosting - Connecting to the Job Market.

These information session will turn your Pamplin expereince into a fortune - #PamplinFortunes - that is. Come to Pamplin 1046 after spring break to pick up your fortune.

Why should you consider a Master's in Accounting?

If you are a graduating senior in May or Summer, 2014 and are still determining your next career step, then come to an information session to learn more about getting a Master of Accounting and Information Systems degree on Wednesday, March 19 at 5 pm in Pamplin 1045.

Why do I need a Master's degree?  ACIS, Finance and other business students with less than 150 hours are usually not considered by public accounting firms because students have not secured the adequate number of required credits to take the CPA exam.  Public accounting firms generally pay higher starting salaries than corporate and government accounting firms and the lifetime earnings of those with a CPA is significantly higher.

By staying an extra year to get your master's degree, you will unlock new job opportunities.  Scholarships and assistantships are also available for Master's students.

Hear unique perspectives from the ACIS Department Head, Director of Career Services, Becker CPA representative, and employers on why it is so important that you extend your education at VT getting the necessary credentials that employers want.

RSVP your attendance to Arnita Perfater (arnita@vt.edu). Bring a friend.

Company Visits
Thanks to 15 students who spent part of their Spring Break visiting companies in Richmond. It was a big hit by the employers. Thanks for your efforts. We will work to have more of these opportunities, including a trip to Raleigh.
