The annual fall version of the Business Horizons Career Fair will be in mid-September. The date is not confirmed yet, but we will share with you as soon as it is official. Registration for the fair will open in mid-May. |
2013 Post-Graduation Survey Results

The University Career Center completed their annual survey of the class of 2013 graduates.
Here are some highlights:
- The placement rate for Pamplin business students increased from 72% in 2012 to 73% in 2013 (highest of any college at VT and compared to 53% for the entire university). Thank you for hiring our students!
- The continuing education figure is 10% compared to 11% last year. Most are ACIS students doing a 5th year. We have the lowest rate of any college in the university and the university figure is 25%.
- The still seeking category remaining unchanged from 2012 at 17%, which is the lowest of any college and compares to the university average of 25%.
- Median salaries remained constant at $50,000.
- The number of graduates working in DC metro declined from 52 to 47% while Richmond increased from 11 to 14% and Roanoke/NRV rose from 7 to 9%.
- Median salaries by major:
- Accounting - $52,500
- Bus Info Technology - $60,000
- Finance - $55,000
- Hospitality and Tourism Mgt - $35,000
- Management - $49,000
- Marketing - $44,000
