Can you feel it? Summer is almost here! That means the Mariners are in full swing (well, sort of), the kids are about to get out of school and the SHRM National Conference is just around the corner. A group of dedicated volunteers are heading to Chicago in mid-June to learn what's on the minds of the nation's leading HR practitioners. If you are going, send me a note so all of us Washingtonians can get together and share our experiences. Can't wait to report back what we've learned.
As you may know, since 2010 SHRM has recognized its Chapters with the Excel Awards. The SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence (a.k.a. SHAPE) awards may be earned at four levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each level builds on a prescribed set of requirements and accomplishments. Chapters and state councils must submit a SHAPE Year-End Report to be considered for an award.
I am pleased to let you know the LWHRA has won SHRM's highest SHAPE award having been granted the Platinum Award for the third year in a row. Only 38 chapters in the country received the Platinum Award and we are one of only two Super-Mega Chapters to achieve SHRM's highest honor. Once again, LWHRA is on the cutting edge of HR. Our chapter continues to thrive and grow. If you want to be a part of this great organization, don't be afraid to reach out.
Looking forward to seeing you at the chapter meeting on Thursday, June 13, at the Bellevue Club. |
