We are so excited to announce that the Pantuso Dance Auxiliary Society will be hosting 2 guest instructors next week; Danny Nielsen and Shelley Hunt. (Bios below.) 

Please see the schedule below for details. If you are currently enrolled in a time slot (with Lindsay), you will automatically be enrolled for the the guest instructor workshop. If you are not enrolled and would like to join in, please e-mail Lindsay at pantusodance@shaw.ca. All classes are free for Pantuso Dance. (All of Jessica's and Christy's classes will be running as usual.)

Dance students, outside of Pantuso Dance, are also invited to attend. There is a $15 registration fee for outside students. Please e-mail Lindsay at pantusodance@shaw.ca to register

Guest Instructor Bios     

Danny Nielsen 
Danny Nielsen is one of Canada's brightest tap talents. He hails from Calgary, AB, where he began his rhythm tap career as a founding member of MADD Rhythms Canada under the direction of Lisa La Touche. Currently residing in Vancouver, he has performed in a number of local productions including Taps and Twang, Dianne Walker and Friends, Miles To Feet, Prelude To A Kiss, A Night At The Waldorf and most recently Matt Shields' A Chronological Life Of A Few Tap Dancers . He also recently finished a 2 year term as Artist In Residence with the Vancouver Tap Society.
Over the last year, he emerged onto the international tap scene, making his presence felt in Germany, Switzerland, Brazil, Chicago, Mexico, Seattle and all over Canada. He has taught for distinguished dance festivals and conventions such as the Zurich Tap Festival, Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Triple Threat, DC Tap Fest, and Brasil Tap Jazz to name a few. Television credits include the worldwide broadcast of the 2010 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies and the opening number for the 2008 Jerry Lewis Telethon choreographed by Chloe Arnold in Las Vegas, NV.
His most recent achievement was being the recipient of the prestigious Santa Aloi Award.

Shelley Hunt 

Shelley Hunt has been continuously active in the performing arts since childhood, with extensive television, film and theatre credits as an actor, dancer, singer, choreographer and educator. Shelley played the role of Rumpelteazer in the national touring production of CATS and had a featured role in ABC-TV's Bye Bye Birdie. She is very proud to have tap-danced up a firestorm, literally, as a featured "Hero Tapper" in the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Over the past 15 years, Shelley has become a sought-after choreographer and has dazzled audiences with her stage creations in dozens of acclaimed shows across the lower mainland, including productions for The Richmond Gateway Theatre, Theatre Under the Stars and North Vancouver's Centennial Theatre for Uncle Randy Productions. She has worked for the USA Network, conceived dance sequences in the the movie Eve and the Firehorse, which won the special jury prize in the Sundance Film Festival, set motion-capture choreography for Mattel's animatronic feature, Barbie:The Princess and the Pauper and choreographed the multi-media spectacle Winter Sport for the District of West Vancouver's official Olympic celebration site. For the past eight years, Shelley has been an esteemed faculty member in Capilano University's Musical Theatre Diploma Program, where she serves as an instructor and choreographer.
