As you receive this e-newsletter, my son, Steven, and I are en route to Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, where we will partner with our NEST (National Evangelist Support Team) Zimbabwe evangelists to preach the Gospel in more than forty schools throughout the city, and host a four-day open-air crusade, our CityCelebration. We will also have the opportunity to speak in local churches, and to continue evangelism training with our NEST Team. Please pray for us while we are on mission, February 21 through March 19. I am so joyful to see God raising up my son as a preacher of the Gospel, and to see people coming to know Christ through his clear communication of the Good News. Thank you for praying for Steven and for me as we travel together, that God will give us the power of His Holy Spirit to preach the Word. Pray, too, for those precious souls who will hear the Gospel, that their hearts and minds will be open to receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! God is doing great things! We have some exciting opportunities on the horizon, with a possible mission in Guatemala City coming up in April, and a mission in Livingstone, Zambia set for late May. In June, we are thrilled to help host the Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists (COSBE) at our COSBE annual retreat at Second Baptist Church. On June 9, I am honored to have the privilege of preaching at the Sunday morning worship service hosted by COSBE at Hilton Americas, in conjunction with the Southern Baptist Convention in Houston, Texas, June 10-12. Amy will also sing. Be praying with us that God will move and work in the midst of these ministry opportunities. Amy and I are very grateful for the many friends and supporters of the ministry of DSEA . We are so grateful that God is allowing us to be sent to the nations with the Good News of Christ! 2012 Ministry Results
On behalf of the board and staff of David Stockwell Evangelistic Association, my wife, Amy, and I wish to express our deep appreciation and gratefulness for the prayer and support of so many dear friends and faithful supporters of our ministry.
Their faithfulness in giving has helped us to reach many thousands of people with the Good News of Jesus Christ in many countries, and to teach and train others to do the work of evangelism.
Through five international and extended mission campaigns in 2012, in Belize, Malawi, South Africa, Philippines, and Kenya, more than 85,170 people heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed in their communities by our American teams. More than 59,638 of those people prayed the Sinners' Prayer with one of our team members, and indicated their desire to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! Praise God for these incredible results!
According to reports received so far, through the ongoing ministry of our NEST (National Evangelist Support Team) partners in Kenya, Malawi, Philippines, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, more than 1,361,288 people have heard the Gospel preached in their communities, with more than 508,133 people having prayed to receive Jesus Christ as Lord with one of our team members.
In summary, during 2012, our American and national teams were privileged to be able to:
ü Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in schools, churches, marketplaces, communities, open-air crusades, fields, prisons, and government offices in ten countries to more than 1,446,458 people.
ü Pray the Sinner's Prayer with more than 567,771 people who publicly indicated their desire to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
ü Distribute more than 87,648 salvation tracts and Scripture portions, 132,883 Bibles, and 1,775 New Testaments.
ü Help plant 125 churches, and numerous Bible study and church cell groups.
ü Train more than 1,345 pastors, evangelists and Christian workers through our Leadership Development & Evangelism Training Conferences, field training on mission, and NEST Team leaders' training ministries.
ü Equip our NEST Teams (52 men in eight countries) with monthly financial support, portable sound systems, microphones, cords, batteries, battery chargers, bicycles, cameras, computers, clothing, food, shoes, household and personal items.
ü Provide support for six other evangelistic ministries, and those who support and care for widows and orphans in several countries in Africa.
ü Lift up and proclaim the Name of Jesus Christ to people from all walks of life!
