MCB Lawyer Referral Service - 4th Quarter Special 

You may join the MCB LRS attorney panel from April - June for a prorated annual membership fee of just $200.  The membership fee includes panel membership for the remainder of the 2013 - 14 fiscal year and the entire 2014 - 15 fiscal year (April 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015).

 

Charlotte School of Law's Law Library - Reopened 

Attorneys may purchase quarterly or annual memberships on a sliding fee scale, based on the number of attorneys in their firm, for unlimited access to the Library or may be admitted to the Library as public patrons one day per week.

MBF Accepting Nominations for Board of Directors

Interested members of the MCB are encouraged to submit their names for consideration for the MBF fiscal year beginning January 1, 2015.  Names should be submitted by 5/31/14.

COURTS CORNER 

 

Formation of Superior Civil Court Committee

This new committee will work collaboratively with the Bar, Bench and Caseflow Management Division of the Trial Court Administrator's Office to grow and improve the system in which we work by brining key players together. Examples of focus issues include Scheduling Orders, Rule Revisions and Case-Type Management. Bar member involvement and participation is welcomed and encouraged. Administrative Order - 3/27/14 

For all appeals from decisions of the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court, the appellant must contact the Caseflow Management not later than 30 days from the date of the appeal to schedule a hearing before a Superior Court Judge. 

 

Court Childcare Now Available for Emergency Needs of Attorneys

Larry King's Clubhouse, the free drop-in childcare facility at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse, now permits attorneys to enroll their children on an emergency basis.
