Mecklenburg Bar Foundation

Happy Holidays From the Mecklenburg Bar Foundation!

Over the past several months, we have called on you to support the 2012 Bar Foundation Fund campaign and many of you have generously heeded that call. For that we would like to say thank you. In this, the season of giving, we want to give back to you as well...the gift of knowing the difference you've made in our community.

With your generous contributions of unrestricted dollars to the Lawyers' Impact Fund, we were able to award over $148,000 in grants during 2011 and 2012 to support Legal Aid of North Carolina, Council for Children's Rights (CFCR), International House, Legal Services of Southern Piedmont, Larry King's Clubhouse, the North Carolina Legal Education Assistance Foundation (NC LEAF), the Professional Assistance Financial Fund, Kids Voting Mecklenburg, the MCB Special Committee on Diversity, the Bar Leadership Institute and the Bar History Initiatives. In addition to our grants, the Foundation was also able to award $19,000 in Fellowships in 2012 through the McMillan Fellowship Program and to generously support the various MCB Centennial events and projects throughout the year.

If you have not yet pledged or donated to the 2012 Bar Foundation Fund, please consider supporting the campaign on or before December 31. Help us help others in our community and let us all celebrate the often overlooked generosity of those in our profession. Thank you and happy holidays!

For more information or to make other donation arrangements, contact Leah Reed Campbell, Director of Foundation Development at [email protected] or 704/375-8624.
