Hi,
This email has some very important reminders and info.
First, please participate in the March Madness Fundraiser for the 17 Blue team to support their three week Triple Crown bus trip this summer -- Memphis/East Cobb/Ft. Myers. Click here to buy brackets.
Second, the team store is NOW open through March 24. Please place orders by then. Click here for the store. No extensions. The store will reopen on May 1 for a week. Nike Gray workout shorts are back-ordered right now and we be available in May.
Finally, now that the temperatures have turned and high school baseball programs are going, I wanted to remind you of some very important things:
1. You need to be doing an in-season weight training program to maintain the strength gains you made over the winter. Use a trainer or follow the Gamers in-season program by clicking here.
2. You need to be throwing long-toss at least 2-3x per week out to a max distance. If you are not doing this in your HS program, find a partner to do it. 3. Bands -- Throwers 10 and the CrossOver Symmetry program that you did all winter to maintain a healthy arm. Bands cost $40 at Baseball Express. Average trip visit to a Physical Therapist is $150. 4. Pitchers need to be throwing to at least 50% max pitch count at full effort 2x per week. This can be done in Games (hopefully) or bullpen sessions at HS practice. If you are not getting your pens in and expect to pitch this summer, figure out a way to get it done. If not, you will not get off to a good start in the summer season. We expect you to be ready to go to your pitch count limit and throw >>60% strikes on Memorial Day weekend. 5. Hitters need to be taking 150+ swings per day, 4-5 days per week. This can be tee work, front toss or BP. But, 150+ swings with a purpose. Lazy swings develop bad habits. Deliberate swings with a purpose. 6. Cardio -- we expect you to be in good Cardio shape in late May. The test is 10, 30 second poles, with 30 second breaks between reps. This is not easy and not the kind of test that you cram for. Run after practice at least 3 times per week if you HS team does not do it. Thanks,
Coach Gallion
