PARENTS -- PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU SON READS THIS EMAIL.
Hi,
We are now ready to start our mental toughness training for the 2013 season for 13 and 14u players.
All should have received a copy of the book "Play Big" by Dr. Tom Hanson. Dr. Tom has worked with the Rangers and Yankees. His program, Play Big Baseball, won the best product award at the Baseball Coaches Convention (ABCA) in 2012 and he was a keynote speaker in 2013.
If you have not received a copy of the book, please let me know.
We are going to run this program during the first part of the season, over the next 6 weeks.
All of the Play Big mental training materials (except the book) are on a private website hosted by Syncrocloud.com. Please do not distribute the log-in information for the private website -- as it is for only people who have purchased the book.
To access the private website you can:
Go to http://syncrocloud.com and register as a new user (this is free). This gives you access to all the public libraries on Syncrocloud.
Once you register go to:
You will be prompted for a passcode, which is stlgamers.
So, you will have three learning sources at your disposal -- the book, the Workbook and the videos hosted on the syncrocloud website.
We are going to follow the lesson plan outlined in the Workbook and video series.
The first assignment, to be completed by March 29th:
Watch Dr. Tom Hansons speech at the ABCA convention. It is in two parts.
The second assignment, to be completed by April 5th:
Lessons 1, 2 and 3 in the video series and the DVD Workbook
Read pages 1-76 in the Play Big Book. Answer the questions in the book's workbook
The third assignment, to be completed by April 19th:
Lessons 4, 5, 6 and 7 in the video series and DVD Workbook
Pages 76-103 in the Play Big Book. Answer the questions in the book's workbook
The fourth assignment, to be completed by May 3rd
Lessons 8 and 9 in the video series and DVD Workbook
Pages 103-170 in the Play Big Book. Answer the questions in the book's workbook
You can then read the rest of the book on your own and follow along with the question in the workbook.
When you have completed each assignment, send an email or text message to your coach letting him know that your are fulfilling your responsibility to become a mentally tough baseball player.
This is an important part of our program, and can ultimately make the difference in your success on and off the field. Please take it seriously and complete the assignments on time.
Thanks,
