Hi,

PLEASE make sure that your son reads this email.  It is being sent to all 2015 and 2016 players.

GRADES MATTER.

YOUR GRADES IN HIGH SCHOOL SET A PATH FOR YOU, BOTH IN BASEBALL AND OUTSIDE OF BASEBALL.  THIS PATH GETS HARDER AND HARDER TO CHANGE AS YOU GET OLDER.

You are in the home stretch of the first semester.

If you are doing well, keep it up!

If you are not doing well, readjust your priorities AND ask for help right now.

Your parents, teachers and guidance counselors will take the extra steps to help you succeed.  BUT, you need to ask for the help.  This is part of growing up and taking responsibility for your own success.

Do whatever you can to turn a C+ to a B, or turn a B+ into an A.

EVERY year, we have kids that get great college baseball opportunities that would not have been possible without good GPA's and ACT scores.

Also, EVERY year we have kids get into schools like MIT and Harvard because they have exceptional grades and are good baseball players.

Unfortunately, EVERY year we also have kids that are talented enough to play in Top 50 D1 programs, BUT do not have the grades to compete for these elite D1 roster spots.  For the most part, these kids that did not focus on academics during their freshman and sophomore years, and let the opportunity slip past them.

GRADES MATTER -- A LOT.

Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

Thanks!

Coach Gallion
