Wow! What a great Clean- Up Day we had! You can view pictures from the event on the Village's page on Pinterest. At the Summer Community Clean-Up Day on July 14, we collected and recycled to the appropriate facilities.....
- 10,000 lbs of electronics
- 5,340 lbs of scrap metal
- 4,700 lbs of recycling
- 3,000 lbs of shredding
- 21,540 lbs of garbage
- 3 semi trucks of Goodwill donations
- 1 truck full of Habitat for Humanity donations
 - 26 mattresses and box springs
- 6 car batteries
- 100 lbs of Alkaline batteries
- 31 bikes for "Dream Bikes"
- 82 florescent tubes
- 80 light bulbs
- 72 ink cartridges
- 24 cell phones
- 560 paint cans
- 25 pounds of prescription drugs
We were also able to donate $1,304 to the MACC Fund and 5 - 96 gallon bins worth of food to the Hunger Task Force. Thanks for donating to these great causes!
Equally and if not more important, THANK YOU to all the volunteers. Without you, this event could not happen. Join us for the next Clean-Up day on Saturday, October 26 from 10 am- 3 pm. Also, don't forget that you can recycle many items at Village Hall everyday during regular office hours. You can drop off electronics, batteries, ink cartridges, and light bulbs. Prescription drugs are collected at the Police Department.
Unfortunately, the Village is not able to collect household hazardous waste. The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District offers opportunities for Milwaukee County residents to dispose of household hazardous waste. A mobile collection site is open this Saturday, July 27 from 8am-2pm at Shorewood High School.
