Destination Restoration

The railroad trestle that

crosses Brown Deer Road will be getting a new look starting on Monday, May 20. A contractor will be conducting lead abatement and then will be painting the trestle. This project is expected to last one week.

During the project, west bound traffic on Brown Deer Road will be routed to take Rexleigh, to Ellsworth, to Regent which will then take you back to Brown Deer Road. East bound traffic will be able to continue on Brown Deer Road, but please be aware that there might be different traffic patterns.

Ash Tree Removal

In addition to the Adopt-a-Tree program, the Village  is planting trees for the Ash tree replacement and removal program. Residents with Ash trees in their right of way that were identified by an arborist to be in failing health are being removed. This is an effort to remove trees that would be susceptible to the Emerald Ash Borer.

To remove the Ash trees, crews are first trimming off all the branches from the trees and then they are removing the trunk and stump. Wherever possible after a tree is removed, a new one is being planted. The goal is to diversify Bayside's urban forest with a number of different types of trees being planted.

Potholes

It's the time of year when many potholes appear on our roadways. This can lead to frustration for drivers. One community has even created a song about potholes and pothole repair.

While our crews perform a number of functions, one is to make sure that our roads stay in great condition. If you notice a pothole, let us know! You can report it online using our Report a Concern section of the website.

New Police Vehicle

The Police Department recently

received a UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) from Cedar Creek Motorsports.  The unit is provided free of charge through a special police program Cedar Creek participates in.

The UTV will be used for patrolling areas that are impossible to reach by car or are time consuming for officers on foot such as ravines, parks, the Audubon Center, and the lakefront.

Wisconsin Birdathon

The Bayside/Fox Point Birdathon Team recorded a total

of 92 different bird species on Saturday, May 11. There were 78 different species tallied in Bayside and 54 in Fox Point. The teams effort focused largely on the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in Bayside and Doctors Park. The Birdathon demonstrates the diversity of bird life in the community.

Bayside Webpage of the Week

New to Bayside? Welcome to the community! The Village has a dedicated webpage that provides information on contacting utilities, garbage, recycling, emergency numbers and other essential services that Bayside provides.
