Year to date, we are averaging 73 pounds less of recycling per person in the Village than we did last year. Those 73 pounds per person have been heading to the landfill.

We have some work to do if we are going to surpass our all-time high of 588.5 tons from last year and reach our community recycling goal of 650 tons this year!

What can you recycle? A lot! The list includes plastics, envelopes, cereal boxes, computer paper, magazines, bottles, glass jars and so much more. You can view the complete list of recyclable items on the Village website

If you need to purchase an additional recycling bin

to keep up with all your new recycling, you can purchase one now through May 31st with a 10% discount.

And don't forget that this coming Saturday is a Community Clean-Up Day. It's a great opportunity for us to all recycle in large numbers.

Remember, not only is recycling good for the environment, it saves the Village money. Did you know that we paid nearly $80,000 to throw stuff in the landfill last year?

You can track the recycling progress each week in the Bayside Buzz or on the Destination 650 page on the Village website.
