Yard Waste Collection Begins

Yard waste collection in the Village begins next week. Yard waste is collected from April through November, with each home collected during designated weeks.  Acceptable items for collection include:
  • Bagged Leaves
  • Containerized fruit debris
  • Bagged garden debris
  • Twigs
  • Brush

Please have your yard waste items bagged. Any item that can be stored in a biodegradable bag or reusable container makes collection much more efficient, helps prevent unintended lawn damage, and even helps to not attract the coyote population to items such as fruit and other yard waste items.   through the collection process.  Bag it, and we'll grab it!

We Found a Place for Mattresses

The first Clean Up day of 2013 is just two weeks away, April 20 from 10 am until 3 pm at Village Hall.  As always, we will be accepting garbage, recycling, electronics, paint, scrap metal, documents for shredding, and donations for Goodwill.  However, the Village is pleased to announce that new for this year there will be stations for mattress sets and bicycle donation.

As a single mattress can take up to 23 cubic feet, this is a great opportunity to ensure your old mattress won't place extra strain on already crowded landfills.  Bicycles brought to Clean Day will also go to good use.  They will be donated to Dream Bikes, which then provides them to underprivileged individuals.  By bringing your old bed sets and bikes on April 20, you can be assured your spring cleaning will both clear up some extra space around your home, contribute to environmental sustainability, and benefit others.

Water Project Informational Meeting

There will be an informational meeting on the municipal water project for members of the Bayside Residential Water Access Association (BRWAA) at the Bayside Middle School on Monday, April 8 at 6 pm.  All members are invited to attend.

While bids are still being formally tabulated, the low bid for the BRWAA  came in at approximately 30% below engineering estimates.

Other items on the meeting agenda include an update on the private lateral bids, a discussion of the timeline of the project, and a question and answer session.  If you have any questions, please contact Alex Henderson at (414)351-8812.
Give Us Your Input!

The Village Hall staff is beginning the process of updating the Village's website. The goal is to make the website user friendly so that you can easily find the information you need and have the ability to access many services online.

If you have any ideas for what you would like to see on the new website, or if you have any suggestions on what could be improved from the current website, please let us know.  Also, if you have any pictures that you would like to possibly see displayed on our website you can also share those. Please send any suggestions or ideas to Rebecca VanRegenmorter
