From the EastMichael Diaz, Worshipful Master
"Yesterday you looked out the window and saw Summer, look again, and now its Fall."

Who would have known that already 8 months have come and gone in the blink of an eye. Something I have noticed in the years leading to this? That the entire time I have been a Mason, I have spent it "observing the east". Though when one takes the position or should I say, is given the position of "Worshipful Master", an individual finds himself not observing the East, but rather observing from it. So there I stand observing the Craft. They look to me for instruction, help and guidance. For courage, to persevere through adversity. To be a mediator between different views and opinions. To be the wise counselor when others lack judgement. To be the Leader, as they are mine to lead. What emotion is invoked when I there stand observing, looking over the Craft? Pride. I have pride, because I am proud of what I see. I am proud that I have seen conflicts of interest, be ignored to achieve a common goal. I am proud that no man has failed because "WE" will not let him. I am proud that even though through disparity, sorrow and loss we there stand as Brothers too the end. From our Past Masters, my sitting Officers, O.E.S. Sisters, our newly raised Master Masons (to whom I bid congratulations), to our youngest Entered Apprentices who stand guard in corners NE. As well as Rainbow and to the youngest of our Pledges and all the hard working parents who advised them. I see these things and I am proud. I am proud of my Lodge, I am proud of Pine Castle. For this institution is not and never has been one in where a single individual can "do it all alone" and if it has not been said enough before then let me say it now, to all of you "Thank you".

My Brothers, this our first meeting the 2nd of October is going to be our Right Worshipful District Deputy Grandmasters official visit to Pine Castle. So let us arrive to our Lodge as we do when visiting other Lodges... in force. Also our Rainbow girls will be cooking for us that night. (which is a school night) so let us do our duty and make them feel appreciated.

As I have said before let me congratulate our four newly raised Master Masons. Let this be the beginning of a long and fruitful Masonic career.

Our Brother David Roar was in a motorcycle accident. Let us all keep him in our prayers as well as all the unspoken prayers as there are so many.

Parents also take note that this month will be our annual Halloween party. So bring the kids, bring the family.

Remember Brothers "To do Good is your job, To do better makes you just that".

Fraternally,

Brothers,

I would like to congratulate our newly raised Master Masons,  Brothers Jose Acebal, Gus Martinez, Vincent Martinez and Josh Micheals.  All were raised at Pine Castle Lodge on September 24th.  These brothers have worked hard to complete their catechisms and are great additions to the Lodge rolls.  They are anxious to engage as a full member of the Lodge so let us welcome them whole-heartedly.

Additionally, this month we will be having an Entered Apprentice Degree on October 23rd, where we will be initiating two new brothers.  Degree will be at 7:30pm.  Come down to the Lodge and assist us in initiating these candidates.  It will also be an excellent opportunity for you to meet our new Master Masons.

And, don't forget about our Community Halloween party on October 31st.  It has become a tradition at Pine Castle and every year turnout gets better and better.

Fraternally,

John Miles, Senior Warden

Brothers,

Just a few reminders, firstly, please take a moment and make sure you have paid your dues for 2013. A few of you are seriously past due and are dangerously close to being suspended for non payment of dues (NPD). I have sent reminder letters and emails so if you received one and set it aside for later action, NOW is the time.

On the same note as above, if you could each take a moment, visit the website and fill out the contact form [click here] I would appreciate it. Even if your info has not changed in a while, maybe you have new info like an updated email address or phone number. It would be a great help if I could verify that we have the correct info.

And, as mentioned by both the Worshipful Master and Senior Warden, please don't forget about our Community Halloween party on October 31st.  I would ask that anyone wanting to help at the event please put your name on the signup sheet on the bulletin board in Pegram Hall. If you can't help during the event but would like to help in other ways, your monetary donations (see link above left) as well as candy are always appreciated. It has become a tradition at Pine Castle and every year turnout gets better and better.
