From the EastMichael Diaz, Worshipful MasterSeptember is now upon us Brothers and Sisters and its feels kinda hot outside dosent it?

I hope that everyone had a well spent Labor Day with family and friends and love ones in the traditional old fashioned American BBQs and hopefully you took the time out in the day to appreciate all that the Grand Architect has given us. Along with the privilege that we live in a country, in which we have a holiday called "Labor Day" and the vast majority of us have the day off? A sweeter irony, I cannot think of? It's a great thing to live in America and on that note let me make this request. "That we all become a better American, by treating our fellow Americans better".

Brothers our DDGM visit is the
2nd of October and in the spirit of being proactive I want us to get the Lodge and other things in order in the meantime. We as well also have Masters & Wardens being held at Pine Castle this Saturday, so its "All hands on deck" to assist our Junior Warden with breakfast and the other preparations to getting things in order. I, now the master of a lodge can recall that the Junior Warden position is not an easy position and on an event such as M&Ws one man "can not" and "should not" do it alone. Come to the breakfast! You don't have to stay for the meeting!

Except of course our Past Masters, you do have to stay. As our Senior Warden has requested an audience with YOU after Masters & Wardens has finished and Memorial Lodge retired. It is bound to be an important meeting. To both the Lodge and in other aspects and Your presence as a Past Master is requested and most appreciated.

Our E.As and F.Cs are proceeding very well, so we're going to have another EA and Master Mason degree coming up soon. So I want all you brother start practicing parts, and I want new guys, I'd like to see new guys stepping up to positions (instructors pass that info to your students) or brothers doing new parts they have not done before. You'll never know if you can do it, unless you try and remember brothers. "Meet on the West, Act on the South and Part on the East."

Fraternally,

Brothers,

As we are now into September and Football, more specifically, Fantasy Football, Season is upon us. It will soon be fall and then the holidays will be here before we know it.  Having said that, there are lots of activities to focus on around the Lodge and the District this month to prepare for the future.

To that end, and as I have mentioned in prior Trestle Boards, I will be working over the next month or so with our Treasurer, and a brother who is a CPA, to develop the budget for next year.  We will be using a chart of accounts that is recommended by Grand Lodge and tailoring these accounts to meet our need.  It is my hope that next year's WM will be able to better manage the Lodge business via new reports and more timely information regarding budget overages.

We may also be having another EA Degree later in the month as we should have two candidates ready for initiation.

At the end of this month, on Monday, September 30th at 7:00, Pine Castle Lodge will be hosting a District Masonic Leadership Training night in which two modules, Lodge Officer Training and Lodge Renewal, will be offered.  As Senior Warden and as the 17th District Committee Chairman for MLT, I strongly encourage all current Officers, and those Master Masons who want to become Officers in the future, to make every effort to attend.

Fraternally,

John Miles, Senior Warden
