And thus alas my brother's one of our number is no more. With all this rain it almost suites the mood as to say that there hangs a dark cloud above ours heads. We are saddened on the passing of our departed brother Burt G Brim. So much can be said about the man, who for many of us was the first person we had ever spoken to when we ourselves decided to become members of Pinecastle.
My own time with Burt compared to most others would be considered short. Though it is amazing how much can happen in such an amount of time. I will miss my brother for there he stood with me when I lacked guidance. A kind word here, a sign of encouragement there. One should look on with great appreciation at what occurs when one individual who respects another is seen with confidences, and to see that persons own self-esteems rise higher then they themselves would have imaged.
Truly our institution is one filled with good men who excel with good character. Without it most of us would not have met these people, nor accomplished what we have done. We strive to help, to aid, to assist and many other modes of fellowship, in fact, it is to ourselves considered law. A code of conduct unto no other. I can say with sincerity that bro. Burt was one of my mentors, my teachers, my friend and what I have learned from him I am sure to teach others.
Thus life goes full circle. All the world is but a stage, and all the people are but actors. They have their entrances and their exits, and all must play their roles. For we know that our savior lives, and in the end, though our flesh my be destroyed, yet through these bodies, we shall see G-D. Yes, we shall see him for ourselves. How we long for that moment and so man returns to the dust from which he came, and the spirit, to G-D who gave it.
