Brothers & Friends,

First, a quick thank you to those that attended the Spring Social. We had fun and met some new people.

April turned out to be an interesting month. We have new ROUND dining tables in Pegram hall so that we can be more social during dinner. I am trying new ways to conduct the stated communications not only to keep the EA's and FC's interested and involved but to keep the meetings short so we can get back to the fellowship we all enjoy. My fellow officers and I are working to get the brothers more involved by having "family friendly" events at the lodge. As you will read from the South, there are some interesting ideas being
considered for the future of the lodge. Be sure to attend the DDGM's Official Visit on May 2nd to hear our report on the future of Pine Castle #368.

I would like to take this opportunity to share some thoughts with you. As we have been taught, Freemasonry is a system of MORAL instruction, anciently taught by types symbols and allegorical figures. The concept of Freemasonry is to make good men better. HOW do we do this you ask? the easiest way is to lead by example. My favorite "rule" is golden. This rule basically says "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." This one simple idea will go a long way toward harmony not only in the lodge but in your personal life. Think before you speak or act. The world perceives our fraternity through the actions of its members. YOU are the window to Freemasonry that is presented to your friends. Remember, when we were all initiated to the degree of Entered Apprentice, the Worshipful Master considered us "Just and Upright Men and Masons and gave us strictly in charge, ever to walk and act as such before
God and man." Even the little things matter. Foul language, snide comments, bad manners, inappropriate behavior, I could keep going but you get the idea. This also goes for things that get posted on social media sites. Be very careful of what you post for the world to read. Some inappropriate posts have recently gotten brothers honorary memberships in lodges revoked and could get you expelled from Freemasonry entirely. So, please be aware of the image you present to the world. You represent the oldest and best fraternity in the world. Lets show them why!

Dear Brothers, Friends & ladies of the O.E.S,

I'd like to thank all of you who came and attended the spring social and showed your support to some of the newer ideas that we have been trying this year. I also would like to take this time to commend our J.W. on the outstanding job he has been doing since installed with breakfast, dinner and the other events that we have had, along with the brothers who helped him. A better example of our fraternities principles and hard work, there is none. As most of you are aware this May 2nd is our D.D.G.Ms visit to our lodge. So lets all show how we at Pine Castle come together, by coming that night. My personal thanks again to those brothers who've continued to support me during my year as S.W.

Fraternally,
Michael L. Diaz, Senior Warden

 Brothers,

This month we will be welcoming our District Deputy Grand Master for his official visit. As part of his visit we will be discussing the future of our Lodge and where we, the Brethren in general and the officers of the Lodge, see the Lodge progressing. There are many plans and goals that we have from growing the membership to refurbishing the Lodge building and making the Lodge a place for us to come for fellowship among ourselves and also for our families. These goals cannot be accomplished without new ideas on fundraising, new activities that appeal to a broad range of interests and age groups, and support from the Brethren in general. Many of our long-term members have been active participants in building and maintaining the Lodge for some time now. It is time for our newer (not just younger) Brothers to take that responsibility on ourselves and shore up the lodge so that it can continue for a long time.

If you are a junior officer in the Lodge, pitch in as often as you can, knowing that, when you rise through the line, you will be looking to your junior officers to do the same. If you are not an officer, get involved and participate. Show the older members of the lodge that what they built will carry on for many years by attending meetings, helping out at work calls and participating in the degree work. If you do not, that place that you come to in order to hang out and attend meetings may not be there when you want or need it. In order for the Lodge to move forward for the next 20-30 years, YOU are needed and your participation is required. We all took the same obligations to be worthy brother Masons; let us reaffirm our commitment and band together and make OUR lodge the best that it can be.

Fraternally,

Note: The times for our family breakfasts are changing from 8:00-10:00 to 8:30-11:00 starting this month. Menu for meals before Stated Communications is: May 2 - Pork Chops with Stuffing and applesauce and dark chocolate cheesecake for dessert. May 16 - Mom's Macaroni and Cheese with salad, bread, and dessert. Also, there will be a workday opportunity 5/12 to clean up the BBQ prep room and the storage room in Pegram Hall. Time will be from 8a-12
