My Brothers,

March is behind us and April has just begun. We had a great turnout for the bbq. We served a total of 301 meals. 58 of those were dine-in and 243 were take-outs. I would have liked to see more brothers show up to help during the day. Overall the event went well and I thank all who were there to help.

These BBQ's are our primary fundraiser and require a huge amount of time and work. In an effort to make the BBQ's more efficient as well as more profitable, I have created a new BBQ committee. This committee will be headed by the JW and is designed to help him with the various aspects of the bbq such as preparing tickets, determining how much food to purchase and prepare, and coordinating event day help. It will also make the event easier to transition from JW to JW each year. If you interested in being a part of this committee please let me know by April 15th so we can start planning the next bbq.

Our next family event is the Spring Social which will be Saturday, April 21st from 2pm until 4pm. There will be different varieties of tea and coffee, some light finger snacks as well as some kid friendly beverages. This event is open for EVERYONE so bring your family, come out and meet your brothers and their families. The cost will be $3 per person. Pinecastle Past Masters and widows are free.

We will begin work on the Pegram Hall renovations soon. If you are interested in helping with this project let me know. We will need help in several areas. We are going to start by rewiring the lights and fans. The lights will be wired into segments and the fans will be wired separately. We will also be adding some "wall washes" which are a sort of "spotlight" above each mural. After the electrical work we will focus on cleaning and painting the walls. after painting we will be doing the woodwork which is framing in each mural to create a "portrait" and adding a chair rail. I would also like to repair the kitchen pass through at this point. Once the woodwork is finished we will put down the new flooring. So, if you are capable of working on any of these projects please let me know.

Remember, this is our lodge. Yours and mine. If we don't work together to keep it up to date and running smoothly by helping out when and where we can by attending work calls or fundraisers we all pay the price in the end.

I will end this month with a poem posted by Bro. Andy Stewart.

Are you an active member

The kind that would be missed
Or are you just content
That your name is on the list?

Do you attend the meetings
And mingle with the flock.
Or do you stay at home
To criticize and knock?

Do you take an active part
To help the work along
Or are you satisfied to be
The kind that just belongs?

Do you ever go to visit
A member who is sick,
Or leave the work to just a few
And talk about the "clique"?

Think this over
You know right from wrong,
Are you an active member
Or do you just belong?

Brothers,

This year's first BBQ has come and gone.  I would like to thank all the Brothers and their wives who pitched in with the various tasks that come with making the BBQ run as smoothly as it did.  You all definitely help make my job a lot easier.  The addition of Beef Brisket to the menu was well received and was very tasty.  We will be keeping it on the menu for the June BBQ.  If you did not attend the BBQ, please try to make it to the next one; we would love to see you in June!

On the menu this month will be Spiral Sliced Ham and Hash Brown Potato casserole for the April 4th meeting and BBQ Pork Sandwiches for the April 18th meeting.

Fraternally,
