My Brothers,Trey Rapp, Senior Warden

Are you excited about 2012? You should be! We have a great team of officers that are ready to work for the lodge.

The new year will bring many exciting changes around the lodge both physical and mental. You will see some new events and a little re-vamping of some old events to see if we can't liven them up and increase attendance. My primary goal is to get brothers back to the lodge. Membership is always a goal and should be on each brothers mind as we go about our daily lives. My secondary goal, which I believe will help with the primary, is to get our families more involved at the lodge. The officers and I are coming up with some great family oriented events at the lodge for all to attend.

I sit in lodge on meeting nights and see the same few dedicated faces each time. Every now and again a new face pops in and then disappears and I wonder, where are all the brothers, whose names I see on our roles and who complain when things don't go as they like, but never bother to come to lodge and vote on any issues that arise or help guide it in a positive direction with some helpful feedback? We all became Freemasons of our own free will and accord and we did it for a reason. My reason was to make new friends and to help those in need. What was yours? A wise man once told me "You can pay all the tuition you want and say you went to college, but if you don't go to class and learn the lessons your only fooling yourself."

Brothers, this is your lodge! The officers and I are here to serve you at your request. However, even though we have a fantastic group of officers, if we don't know what the brothers want to see happen at the lodge we can't make it happen. It's up to you to make your voice heard. The best way to do that is to attend lodge. There are only 24 stated communications each year with some degrees in there as needed. I would be very pleased to see each brother make each meeting although I know this won't happen. I would probably pass out from excitement if our absent brothers started getting involved with the degree work. Remember, the business of the Blue Lodge is to make Master Masons. Once raised they may go off to the Shrine or to the Scottish or York Rites and that's ok. They are still first and foremost Master Masons. Our goal should be to mentor these new brothers and instill in them the same love and dedication to the Ritual that is Freemasonry that we share. After all, freemasonry makes good men better!

Friends and Brothers

First let me start by thanking all of you who voted and supported me over this year and electing me to my new position.

What you can expect of me: I will continue to do my duties to the utmost and best of my ability. I plan on doing some traveling to other lodges, especially our most local lodges.

What I expect from the brothers: I expect you all to act like the upstanding men I've known you to be. Let old grudges die and the new year live.

Sincerely,
Michael Diaz, Senior Warden

Brothers,

First of all, a sincere thank you for electing me Junior Warden for this year. I look forward to a very busy but exciting year in the South and will be needing all of your support throughout the year, during our BBQs, breakfasts and work calls, to make it a successful year. This year, we will be having dinners before all stated communications with dessert and fellowship time after the meetings. The menu for each meeting will be published in the Trestleboard in advance so you will know what to expect when you come to the Lodge for dinner. For this month, the menu on January 18th will be Chicken Alfredo with salad and garlic toast. This will be a big event as we will be hosting a presentation by the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRL) and we are expecting brothers from across the District to attend.

Our first family breakfast for the year will be January 28th. I am planning to introduce a few new items for the breakfasts so if you haven't been up for breakfast in a while, come on up to the Lodge and join us.

I am also working on a program where you will be able to donate your dinner costs at the beginning of the year and receive a discount off the normal requested donation. More details on that later this month.

I hope everyone had a great christmas and we have a prosperous New Year. Unfortunately we lost about 30 Brothers due to non payment of 2011 dues. We can only hope that we will be able to get some of them back. Please keep me updated on your address, if you move, let me know. Send me an e-mail or call me. When letters are returned it costs the lodge. If I can't contact you, you may miss out on your dues notices.

We have two new Master Masons being raised this month, and eight Brothers working in the other degrees as well as many inquires about masonry. Come on out and enjoy your lodge.

Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #321
OES LogoMy Brothers & Sisters,

There will be no meeting January 2, 2012 as this is a legal holiday.  The next meeting will be January 16 and we will have the honor of Grands and Past Grands doing the work for the opening, introductions and closing.  February 6 is advance night, so come and watch our future leaders. We will also honor our  very important side liners that evening and have a covered dish supper, the proceeds going to the heart fund.  Elections will be held February 20 with farewell on March 4.  The year has certainly gone by fast.
