Brothers,Worshipful master

We are all saddened by the recent passing of two distinguished Brothers from Pinecastle. Worshipful Don McKenzie who was Master in 1989, and Brother Jerry Higginson who was Potentate of the Bahia Shrine in 2004. The memorials for both Brothers were well attended.

On Saturday, April 30th, 2011 we are having our Past Masters dinner at Pinecastle to recognize these fine Brothers. Dinner will be at 6:00 PM and recognitions will be at 7:00 PM. The meal will be cabbage rolls, salad, tea or coffee and dessert. There will be no cost to the Past Masters. Anyone else will be $7.00. A letter will be sent out to the Past Masters with an RSVP so we can plan on the number of attendees.

I have tickets for the meals which will be in the hospitality suite at Grand Lodge in May. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served on Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. Wednesday will be Breakfast and Lunch. All that for $35.00, individual meals $7.00.

We will soon be having some proficiencies and degrees are in the works, stay tuned!  April is shaping up to be another busy month in the District.

Best Regards,
Randy White, Worshipful Master

Trey Rapp, Senior WardenBrothers,

The WM, JW, and I recently attended the board meeting at the Masonic Home. This was my first visit and I was greatly impressed. While there, I discovered their "wish list" and decided that this would be yet another "great thing" the lodge could do to support the home and our brothers. The Wish List can be found on the masonic home website HERE. I have placed a plastic bin in Pegram Hall for the collection of any donations you may have.

Since we are on the subject of "wish lists", I was approached at our last stated communication by a PM who suggested that the lodge have its own wish list. I think this is a fantastic idea and to that end have created a wish list link on the lodge website HERE. Any specific items needed by the lodge will be listed as needed for those that would like to donate something practical instead of money. If you would like to add something to the list you can e-mail me or get with me next time you are at lodge.

As always, comments and suggestions about the website or emails are appreciated. The website is a group effort and should contain something for everyone.

Sincerely,
Trey Rapp, Senior Warden

Michael Diaz, Junior WardenMy Brothers,

With unemployment still hovering near 9 percent, many families are struggling with long-term unemployment or the reduced wages that come from having their hours cut back at work. These are demanding times that are making food recipients out of people who never thought they would be food insecure. Families that own homes, cars, laptops and internet services - people just like you and me - are finding that they are now in need of some assistance.

To help, your lodge is currently holding a "year round" canned food drive. The drive is to support Feeding America (formerly Second Harvest Food Bank) and any canned goods you can donate would be very much appreciated. There will be a container in Pegram hall for any donations you bring.

Fraternally,
Michael Diaz, Junior Warden

My Brothers & Sisters,

Pine Castle Chapter installed our new officers March 19th and our first meeting was held March 21st.  Wednesday March 30 we will be going to Pioneer Chapter ( Winter Park Lodge) to honor our new Grand Instructor and have some fun. There will be a covered dish supper at 6:30.  The next meeting is April 4 which is the Chapter's birthday and we will be honoring Charter Members. Since Grand Chapter is the week of April 18, there will be no meeting. The School of Instruction is April 25 at 7PM and our Official Inspection is May 2.

Thanks to all who attended our Installation.  It was great to see so many there.

With Star Love,
