PineCastle Lodge
April 2010
Worshipful Master
Brothers....
We are hearing from more and more of our "Wayfaring Brothers".  Bro. Richard Waters from Texas, Bro. William Jordan from South Carolina, Bro. Charles Krick from Lakeland, Bro. Bob Blanch from Kentucky & Bro. John Rutcho from Pine Hills, it is great for us to hear from you.  As I have said in previous Trestle Board messages, we are inviting all of our Brothers who have traveled outside of our area and do not make it to Lodge anymore to contact me.  If you could send me a note with a little bit of information about yourself, where you are living now, what Lodges are you attending etc. even a photo would be nice, we will send you one of our beautiful Lodge pins.  Your notes and photos will go up on our "Wayfaring Brothers" board for all to see and appreciate.  With this Trestle Board message our first group of Lodge pins are being mailed out and I thank the Brothers for contacting me.

Brothers Ralph, Mel, Tom and Bill were invited to participate in a Master Mason Degree by the Lodge in Claremont.  Apparently their reputations as ruffians and sea captains have proceeded them and a special request was made for their presence.  Thanks for going out there Brothers, you make us look very good.

Brothers, If you have e mail service, please consider having us e mail the Trestle Board out to you.  You can do this through the web site or send your e mail info to me at wm@pinecastle368.com  You will receive the T. Board faster & save your lodge the mailing costs

Our thanks go out to the DDGM Chet King and the Master of Memorial Lodge.  Bro. James R. Guckenberger passed away and his funeral was held on the 26th. of March. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bro. James' widow and family.

Brothers, please keep in mind that your family should have up to date contact information should a Masonic Service be requested.  As much notice as possible is needed for preparation.  Without Memorial Lodges assistance, the services would be impossible in many cases.

Our E.A. degree in March was a very impressive affair.  The degree team did an especially good job and the participation of the newer Brothers was terrific to see.

Congratulations go out to the new officers of the Eastern Star.  I am looking forward to working with you on our many functions. Together we can work on the task of reducing the Lodges energy expenses.  Any ideas you may have on that are welcome.  The very much under used freezers and refrigerator in the storage room would be a great start. Consolidating the food storage and eliminating the fridge and one of the freezers is a great idea that I would like to hear from you on.  Keeping a close eye on the use of lights and a/c will be important with summer coming on.
The Rainbow girls are having a busy and fun month.  Their "car wash " event helped to put a little more money in their savings and on April 24th. they will be at the Shrine circus tending to the various food booths.  Brothers, keep this date in your calendars and if you can, please help the girls out on the 24th.  As many brothers as could possibly attend would be very much appreciated.  Contact Bro. Jim Guest for more information.  Congratulations on your initiations on the 18th.  Seeing new members come into the Rainbow is exciting. What a great organization this is for the young ladies.

On April 10th. we will be having a Bible & Apron Ceremony for many of our newer Brothers.  A terrific meal will start at 7:00pm and the ceremony held after.  All families & friends are invited.  Lodge officers will be needed at 6:30 to prepare the Lodge for this event.

We have four new petitions in for the degrees, Messer's Samuel Christopher Hilliard, Jack Calo Jr. Anthony John Wnek, and Richard McFadden Reaves, should they pass the ballot they will be initiated on the 14th of April.

Pine Castle initiated four new Masons on the 11th of March and they are now involved with their training.

We will be having another E.A. Degree on the 14th. and our District Deputy Grand Master will be visiting us on the 21st.

As I have said in previous messages, I am taking the second meeting of the month and keeping business to a minimum.  The Masonic discussion we had on the 17th. was really a great time.  Many brothers came up to me later to say it was the best meeting they had ever been to.  Our thanks go out to Bro. Richard for his insights on how lodges developed in early America and to Bro. Jeremy for that excellent power point presentation.  Remember Brothers, the second meeting of the month is being reserved as a "Discussion Night".  If you cannot make it to the business meeting then be sure to stop by for some supper and a great night of discussion and interaction with your Lodge Brothers.  I am looking forward to more from Bro. Leonard and Lanman and I encourage everyone to bring in bits of trivia, Lodge and Masonic history etc. to share and discuss.

Attn: Past Masters:  On the 7th. I will be having a meeting with the Lodge Officers and invite you all to come and share your thoughts on this years events and goals. I would like to see all officers at 6:00.

Finally, my thanks go out to all those who help to support our BBQ events.  Right now we are all going through tough financial times and your Lodge is no different.  Your support was very much appreciated.  We have new men coming into masonry and maintaining the building and expenses is vital.  So again, my sincere thanks goes out to you.

April is here already.  Please take care of yourselves and stay in touch!

Gerry Rushton, Worshipful Master
From the South
Junior Warden
My Brothers,
I want to thank all of you that helped in the BBQ. Everyone did a great job.  I also want to thank all of you that support the lodge by coming to the suppers prior to the Communications & the family breakfast on the 4th Saturday of each month.
Randy White, Junior Warden
From the Secretary
Secretary's Jewel My brothers,
I ask that if you are in the process of moving or changing your address please let me know your new address. I now have two Brothers that I am unable to contact because they did not send me a change of address. Also, if you are the care giver of one of our brothers that is in failing health we would appreciate it if you let us know.

"Alas another Brother from Pine Castle Lodge has joined the Great Architect of the Universe. Brother James Ronald Gukenberger, who joined our lodge in 1973, has left this earth.  Rest in peace my Brother."

Yours in the Fraternity,

Burt Brim, PDDGM, Secretary
